The Ultimate Combination EVER: SanJoGo Gattai!

Well, I didn’t think that we were going to get any news this week, but boy was I wrong. According to an RRR post (link below) that came out just today that in the upcoming Go-Kaiger 199 movie. Apparently, there is going to be one massive combination with all the Sentai machines with from every past series, including the machines from Goranger and JAKQ, forming the ultimate Sentai robo. This is the first time they’ve ever done anything like this, even with the trend in the last few years of these big clusterf*ck megazord formations. Here is a representation of them all together:

Now there really isn’t a lot known about it, and I doubt we’re going to learn anything more about it until the movie is about to come out, but in many ways this sounds cool, and yet at the same time it sounds like a horrible idea. Now whether it turns out to be an actual combination, or if something like an ultrazord or a carrier robot, we’ll have to wait and see to find out. But you’ve got to admit, it does sound interesting.

More stuff Saban hid in the closet: Zord designs for unfilmed Zyu3 project!

Hey everybody, I was just poking around looking for actual news to put on the blog (this has been a very slow week for toku news, but for anyone in regular news, they can hardly keep up) when I stumbled across this pic from the Henshin Justice Unlimited forums:

These were zord designs for MMPR’s later seasons designed by the actual Toei sentai mecha designers. The stroy behind this is that it was either designed for the Zyu2 footage, but they settled on the Dairanger footage instead, or, and for some reason I find this more likely, it was designed for their third season, the never-filmed Zyu3, as a way to replace the Dairanger mecha/Thunderzords with zords that better reflected their powers and costumes. If you look at these designs, you can see the overwhelming similarities and drastic differences between these and the original Zyuranger mecha/Dinozords. The design is much more stream-lined, much smoother and cleaner looking, and yet they stil retain the same look and feel of the original, and it looks like they combine the same way too. And it seems to have features that other mecha would use later, like the built-in bow or the drill fist. It may be possible that they went back to these designs when they started work on Abaranger, because there are just too many similarities here for them not to have used these. And as proof that they made this for Saban and Power Rangers (other than the big bold letters on top that say “POWER RANGERS”) is that they incorporated the lightning bolt logo into the design, and they included an updated version of the Tigerzord. Not only does it form it’s own separate robo like the original Tigerzord, it can also combine with the Dinozords, and the Type A formation uses the face from Dragon Megazord. In fact, this version of the Tigerzord borrows a lot from the Dragon Zord. And, at least for the Type B version, the Tigerzord could act as a cannon weapon for the main Megazord.

You know the more I look over this, the more I can’t help but notice things that would go into later mecha designs. Other than Abaranger, I can see design elemants for Hurricanger, Gaoranger, Gingaman, I think that some of it might have even made it over into Kakuranger. These designs, these concepts are just way ahead of their time compared to other mecha designs from around that time. Don’t get me wrong, if they had made, it probably wouldn’t have looked a thing like this, but it still looks like a mecha you would have seen this decade.

Nick finally discovered what everyone else already knew; if you put new episodes of Power Rangers on Saturday, more people will watch it. And if I might add, suck it Supah Ninjas!

henshinGARB New Catalogue: I’m shoving this thing so far down your throat…

Boy is it just me or has it been a slow news week for tokusatsu? And I had this week off, too. I guess I’ll just have to fill the void with my own stuff. And since I happened to reopen my shop, I guess I’ll just have to talk about that.

Now, this isn’t some planned publicity stunt to bring attention to the shop, quite frankly I’m not good at planning stuff, the shop was reopened at visitor request, specifically at the request of PaladinZeo. And as any long-time visitors of the site (do any of you exist?, because I know that at least PaladinZeo over there is a subscriber) know, I go to great lengths for my visitors. Doesn’t seem like it, but that’s because all you see is the finished product. And so, for those of you who are interested, the site is open and active, and I’ve included some new products and updated some old ones. So let’s see what I’ve got!

Starting with the updated products first, we have…

T-Shirts ~ Men's Standard Weight T-Shirt ~ henshinhead logo teeWomen's T-Shirts ~ Women's Standard Weight T-Shirt ~ henshinhead logo tee

The henshinhead logo tee! I’ve updated the appearance of the logo, so now there isn’t an awkward out-of-place black box. Available in a variety of colors and sizes for only $12.00.

T-Shirts ~ Men's Standard Weight T-Shirt ~ Super Hero Time Support: Heroes for JapanWomen's T-Shirts ~ Women's Standard Weight T-Shirt ~ Super Hero Time Support: Heroes for Japan

And here we have an update Heroes For Japan Tee. I’ve made the background of the design transparent so it blends with the shirt better, and I threw out the belt. Available for only $12.00.

T-Shirts ~ Men's Standard Weight T-Shirt ~ Toku Allegience: Ultraman Tee

A bit of an unexpected one (not really) that I’ve update is this one from the Toku Allegience line, the Ultraman Tee. I got rid of the grey in the design, so now it flows from the t-shirt. Once again, only $12.00.

These prices are so low, you might as well be stealing! Hey, come back here with that!

And now for new stuff!

T-Shirts ~ Men's Standard Weight T-Shirt ~ Bouken Spirits! TeeWomen's T-Shirts ~ Female AA Slim Fit Tee ~ Bouken Spirits! Women's Tee

Presenting the brand new Bouken Spirits! tees. With this famous compass design, you’ll never be lost, brave adventurer! Available in multiple colors and in Men’s and Women’s sizes. That’s $11.00 for Men’s standard weight tee, $18.00 for Women’s AA Slim Fit Tee.

Buttons ~ Small Buttons ~ henshinhead logo small buttonButtons ~ Large Buttons ~ henshinhead logo large button

And because I like buttons, I have a whole new batch of them! First we have the henshinhead logo buttons, available in two sizes, and each come in a standard 5 pack. That’s $5 for the smaller buttons, and $6 for the larger buttons. I know, there a dollar more than the other, but that’s just from the commission on the logo design.

And because I like the way this design came out, I made it into a button too! The Bouken Spirits! button comes in two sizes, five-to-a-pack, and is available for only $4 for the small buttons, and $5 for the large buttons.

And that should be everything that’s new in the shop. Anything else that isn’t here that you’ve seen before is probably still in the shop. There are some other changes that I’ve made that I haven’t covered here, you’ll just have to look and see for yourself. And in case you’re wondering, the Go-Kaiger stuff is still there as well.

And the phoenix rose from the flames: henshinGARB is back baby!

Well that didn’t take too long. Recently I took down henshinGARB because of a lack of interest in the merch. I promise, I will never use the word “merch” again. Anyway, about a week after I made that announcement, someone commented that they actually wanted to buy my stuff, and I closed up shop just as he got the money to do so. Sorry about that, PaladinZeo, but KRFan really got to me, and like I said before, well over 200 people visited the site, but nobody bought a thing until now(?). So for you PaladinZeo, and for anyone else interested, the site is now active again, and the link is back in the Blogroll (under “Stuff I actually have anything to do with”), so go out and shop ’til you drop!

Oh, and KRFan, I just want to say that 1) You’re still a jerk, and 2) if you don’t like my stuff, then don’t buy it.

Final update from April.

Hey everyone, happy May Day! Just wanted to say that for April, we had 3510 visitors, and the weekly totals just keep going up. And so you know, the daily average for last month was 117 visitors a day, and now the total all time number is over 6700. Just wanted to say thanks, and to keep coming back for all the stuff you love.
