PRS Clash of the Red Rangers News: RPM not in gear?

We have some news about the Power Rangers Samurai and RPM crossover special entitled “Clash of the Red Rangers”, but I’m not sure how much you’ll like it. According to FuryDiamond of Rangerboard, his sources have suggested that the no one from RPM has actually appeared for the filming of the special(!). Here’s what he had to say:

None of my sources have confirmed whether any of the RPM cast members are in the “teamup”. All of the ones that were contacted were busy working on other projects.

* One of my sources did mention that they got voice actors to take the place of the cast members.

* Few sources confirmed that they didn’t see any of the RPM cast members on set. This could mean that the RPM scenes were filmed separately or that the teamup is suit only.

Here are the possible scenarios:
1. SUIT ONLY: None of the cast members return. Voice Actors will take their place.
2. SUIT ONLY: Some of the cast members return to do their own voices while voice actors will take the place of the missing ones.
3. HALF SUIT: Some of the cast members return for the unmorphed scenes. Voice actors will take the place of the missing ones in suits.

Well, if this is really the case, then we might not get to see a real team-up special at all. I hope that they can at least get part of the original cast, so that it’s somewhat authentic. While we’d love to see everyone, I would be happy to at least see the main five. Knowing Saban’s luck so far, we’ll be lucky if the replacement voice actors match up.

  1. IMDB are claiming that all the RPM rangers are cast, but power rangers wiki are saying that they’re not. I just wanna know if anyone has a clue when it comes out…

    1. Well, I haven’t really heard anything since it was announced, so yeah, no clue on when it will premiere. Most likely, we won’t see it until some time early next year. Of course, you can always check out the other two specials, the first of which. the Halloween special, premieres next week (in the US). And I promise, the moment I know when it comes out, I will write a follow-up post.

      1. Images from Nick show only RPM’s Operator Series Red in suit form appearing in the special… So looks like it’s mostly going to be re-shot and only the footage between both reds up until the other rangers would have appeared, had they been used. The only actor they could have brought back would have been Ari Boyland (RPM Blue), seeing as he already voiced the Nighlok in the episode of Antonio’s debut and the Halloween episode… Dan could have been brought back as he wasn’t in Home & Away for a while, although that may have been the time he was in Dancing With the Stars – All I know is that this was most likely filmed in December OR possibly February, when they returned to New Zealand for filming after Christmas break.

      2. I’ve seen the photos (and will try to post them on this blog soon), and I’m not sure what to make of it yet. I’d still like to pretend that even though they’ve only shown the Red RPM Ranger in suit, that there’s still a posibility that the rest of the team will show up (at least in suit) and they can use the full Vs. movie fight-scene footage, but there’s no guarantee of that ever happening. Either way, we’ll all just have to watch it when it premieres and judge for ourselves then if they’ve completely screwed up the whole special.

Also, I didn’t know that was Boyland voicing that Nighlock (I’m assuming you mean the Nighlock with the random Scottish accent). If they had him on hand already, then why not include him in the episode?
