Superhero Taisen, The New Spring Tradition?: Spring Crossover Movies to be the new norm.

You know it, I know it. The biggest bit of toku news this month is, without a doubt, the announcement of the tokufan wet dream crossover movie, the tenatively titled Superhero Taisen. The movie, which is planned to feature the ultimate franchise crossover between Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, would feature 40+ Riders, represented by Heisei 10th Anniversary Rider Decade, and 200+ Sentai Rangers (alright, I give in) represented by 35th Anniversary Sentai Go-Kaiger. Well, recently ca3 blog recently posted an excerpt from an article on this year’s 40th issue of Otona Fami magazine which gives fans some idea of how the movie will play out.

Basically, the movie plot centers around Kamen Rider Decade, whose series featured nearly every Rider in Rider history, getting in a big fight with Kaizoku Sentai Go-Kaiger, who’ve transformed into nearly every Sentai Ranger in Sentai history.

Of course, the movie will also feature Kamen Rider Fourze, Den-O with all the Imajins, and the next Sentai, Tokumei Sentai Gobuster. And from now on, there will be regular Spring Hero Movies, though not neccesarily a crossover movie like this (we’ll have to see how well this movie does).

Filming for the movie starts at the end of this month (December 2011) and the movie is set to premiere early May 2012.
