Power Rangers Ultrapost: Samurai are Super!

Hey, there’s been a lot of Power Ranger news that’s come out over the last month, and for some reason I keep missing it! So, I’m just going to take some of the biggest headlines from the past month or so and thow them all into one Gigantor post! And coming up first we have this new poster for the the new season of PRS, Power Rangers Super Samurai!:

Yep, next season, the “Super” mode will be officially incorporated into the series, including this new Super Mega Mode. And if I’m not mistaken, I can see a new enemy in the corner. No info yet on when the next season will start.

And this poster actually came from the Power Morphicon Facebook page, who also announced the official date for Power Morphicon 2012! This year, it will take place from August 17th-19th 2012 at the Pasadena Convention Center (same location as the last), and Registration is open for anyone interested.

Speaking of Pasadena, anyone who saw this year’s Tournament of Roses Parade (and not on ABC)¬†might have caught a glimpse of the Power Rangers Samurai Video Game float. If not, you can check out this video from the HGTV coverage of the parade:

And here’s a nice gallery of pics:

And here’s a couple of behind-the-scenes videos, one of which includes Andre from BlackNerdComedy:

Now this next part, I don’t have a decent segway for, but it was still awesome.

Yep, this happened, for 48 hours on Nicktoons back on the 6th (January 2012), and I’m assuming it was awesome since I couldn’t watch it because we had downgrade our cable package literally the week of. My life sucks sometimes…

BTW they have been playing that on there regularly as well, so go check it out if you can! Because I can’t. ūüė¶

Now let’s move onto some newer news thst came out while I was working on this ultra-post!

Mainly, Kimberly Crossman has been 100% CONFIRMED to play a future Red Ranger Role! YAY!! This confirmation via a recent video post on Carlos Pena’s YouTube Channel¬†(Carlos Pena¬†from¬†Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush)¬†where she comes on and outright says it, though she does keep us in the dark about the details. You can check out the whole video below (though I can’t guarantee you’ll be that impressed):

So yeah, there’s that. And then there’s this:

Yep, this is the cover of the latest issue of Hyper Hobby Magazine, which your going to see a lot of as I do more of these ultra-posts, and the portion of it that I want to cover here is this: while full translations of this are STILL not available, we can confirm that Toei did discuss the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers, and those discussions included possibly re-shooting the¬†Legend War scene from the opening of Go-Kaiger with teams from MMPR onward. Whether the 20th season of Power Rangers will be the Go-Kaiger adaption is anyone’s guess.¬†But that’s still big news, though I wouldn’t expect any adaptions of the movies to be quite as spectacular as the Go-Kaiger movies have been so far.

And that should be about everything, barring nothing comes out in the next five minutes. If anything else pops up, I make no guarantees, but I’ll try to let you know.

Go-Kaiger Mega-Post: Catching up on some slippery Pirates!

For those of you that happen to read other blogs, you know that I have gotten very far behind on catching up with the latest news about everything and anything. Well, to make up for that, I’m going to post EVERYTHING I’ve found Go-Kaiger-related in one super-sized Mega-Post! Expect lengthy descriptions and oodles of pics from this point on.

Starting with the oldest stories first, we have an interview with Wakamatsu Toshihide, who plays Yuki Gai/Black Condor, originally in Jetman but most recently in the newest episode of Go-Kaiger, talking about how writer¬†Inoue Toshiki talked him into taking up his old role for this new series (note: this was translated from a Japanese magazine interview, I had nothing to do with the translating, so don’t complain to me about inproper English) :

I got phone call from Toshiki Inoue in the very early morning… well as is usual for him (laugh). He said ‚ÄúI’ll write script so appear on Gokaiger as Gai Yuki‚ÄĚ. I’ve heard about “Gokaiger” so I knew what he told about, but I couldn’t believe what he said, because Gai already passed away.

The story of Gai’s death in Jetman was made mainly by Inoue and me at a meeting where we drank much(laugh). So I was against Gai’s being alive and I told so. Then he said ‚ÄúI understand you. Believe in me. If you don’t appear, I will never write.‚ÄĚ So I replied to him with saying ‚ÄúI’ll leave everything to you.‚ÄĚ

After reading the script, I called Inoue and heard him saying “It’s nice story for you isn’t it?” (laugh) I myself thought I’m too outstanding well in the story so I felt a kind of guilty for being a leading character in Gokaiger. At the same time I felt Inoue’s having a special place in his heart for Gai.

At the point I received the offer I called Hirofumi Ishigaki, Action Director in Gokaiger. He acted Yellow Owl in Jetman. I asked him if it’s possible to make Mr. Ohfuji act Brack Condor.

When I was in fitting session, I got welcome news. Mr. Nakazawa, the director said Ohfuji accepted the offer of Black Condor. Other staffs also thought that Black Condor must be acted by Ohfuji. That’s my great pleasure.

To answer your first question, Mr. Ohfuji is the original suit actor for Black Condor, so that makes the performance of Black Condor in battle that much more authentic. Which makes it that much cooler overall.

Next up, we have an official announcement for a new Go-Kaiger game from Namco Bandai, this time for the Nintendo DS, entitled Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Atsumete Henshin! 35 Sentai!

The game’s genre is “Narikiri Treasure Hunting”, and you do just that. Basically, you go around the world finding, collecting, and using RangerKeys in battle. Each level has it’s own RangerKey, and along the way you have to fight Zangyack and collect the RangerKey on the map as soon as possible. The game also uses the stylus, making battles that much more simpler. The game will be released November 17th for 5040 yen.

I know it’s only been two¬†console games so far, but that’s actually quite a lot in such a short span of time, amd whe you include other non-console games, then that number really jumps up.

Speaking of which, Namco Bandai has also announced a new app game for Go-Kaiger, called Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger ~ Let’s GokaiGalleon ~!

In this new game, you can play as Go-KaiGalleon, fighting against Zangyack spaceships. You even have the ability to play as Go-KaiOh!

Here’s the official iTunes description:

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger comes to iPhone! Blast away meteoroids and enemy spacecraft that threaten the Gokai Galleon on its voyage towards Earth! Control the action with simple taps and flicks as you feverishly try to earn your best score!

Controls: Lock on to enemies on the screen by tapping them. You can lock on to multiple enemies at the same time. Next, flick the screen to attack all the enemies you are locked on to simultaneously! Tilt the device left and right to dodge enemy attacks.

Hints: Multiply your score locking on to multiple enemies and defeating them all at once. Pirate marks pile up on the lower left side of the screen, according to the number of enemies defeated at once. Once you have eight marks, you can transform into Gokaioh. You are invincible while transformed, giving you the opportunity to boost your score even more!

Sounds simple and easy to play, and it’s only 170 yen. It’s available for iPhone 3GS & 4, and iPod Touch 3 and up. You’ll need¬†a Japanese iTunes account to¬†purchase it, but luckily for you, Jefusion happens to have a post¬†on how to set up one.

Next we have some interesting info on a “discarded” background story for Don Dogoier/Hakase/Go-KaiGreen. It comes from an interview with Go-Kaiger lead wirter Arakawa Naruhisa by Hyper Hobby magazine. Here’s one background story they considered for the good doctor:

(Arakawa)¬†“Don would be a scared boy who saw his scientist father die in a laboratory after the Zangyack attacked and started a fire, leaving him traumatized.” In addition, Arakawa said that he wouldn’t be “a special person like Ahim”, that he doesn’t come from some high rank in society, that he is just an average person (comparitively speaking).

Well, I’m not sure if some version of this story is used, but it would explain a lot about him. What do you think about it?

Anyway, let’s move on to some showroom toy pics featuring Go-KaiMachine Machalcon and the Go-KaiGalleon Buster:

This is the next Go-KaiMachine, Engine Machalcon. He is the Go-Onger‘s Grand power, and as you can see below, he can be used to combine Go-KaiOh and Go-JyuJin into a single combined mecha!

And here we (finally) have Go-Kaiger‘s cannon weapon, the Go-KaiGalloen Buster. As you can see, it works like other cannon weapons, where everybody puts their RangerKeys in and KABOOM! Freshly toasted Zangyack.

Wait, what’s that at the top?

Hmm, it’s talking about glowing 7 different LED light colors, which every weapon toy does, but it’s also showing seven RangerKeys, including a blacked-out one over the purple circle. Could this possibly be a new Go-Kaiger? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

And finally, we have the screen shots from the newest episode of Go-Kaiger! Check out Black Condor’s return:

New Super Hero Time!

And next week:

There. now we’re all completely caught up on all things Go-Kaiger. If anything else comes up, I;m putting it in a new post. ūüėõ

Movie Wars 2011: Ankh Returns?!!

The finale to Kamen Rider OOO was quite amazing. The only part of it that most people didn’t like was Ankh’s death at the end of the final fight scene. And his death has left many to ask what they plan on doing for the next Movie Wars now that Ankh was gone and the Core Medals were destroyed. Well, it looks like Ankh might just make a return in the next Movie Wars!

Did you mean?

Speculation came after he posted this pic of himself with the Ankh haristyle on his personal blog. While the associated post talked about thanking people for watching the show, some have wondered whether this was a sign that Ankh would be making a return.

I’m not sure about that, but it does turn out that they had planned on killing of Ankh from the very beginning! In an interview with Hyper Hobby magazine, producer Takebe Naomi, with Watanabe Shu, discussed how they had planned to get rid of Ankh from the very beginning, how they had planned on sealing him away at first, and how they never even discussed the possibility of bringing him back!

They also talked about Eiji’s background a little bit, how he is a politician’s son who uses his mother’s maiden¬†name to avoid being recognized, and how he has an older politician brother (even Shu didn’t know that).

Shu wanted to get into more action stuff himself in the show, but they were never able to add anything like that to the show, Takebe agreed to discuss doing that with him and the production staff for the next Movie Wars. Maybe they’ll talk about reviving Ankh while they’re at it.

Hyper Hobby 09/2011

Hyper Hobby 09/2011.

Here’s a collection of scans from the September issue of Hyper Hobby magazine. It’s a¬†complete collection, and covers all things toku, anime and collectable. Special thanks to Fans Tokusatsu Indonesia for putting it together.

More Go-Kaiger episode and toy scans: The first actual picture of Go-KaiSilver we’ve seen.

So this is probably the first real pic of Go-KaiSilver in his standard mode, everything up to now has been partial pics or pics of his Gold Mode. And that is a double-close-up of Gai Ikari, the person chosen by the fallen Sixth Senshi to be Go-KaiSilver.

As I’ve said written in previous posts, Gai Ikari¬†starts out as¬†a Super Sentai fanboy. He saves a girl’s life but gets hurt in a car accident because of it. While he is unconscious, he enters into a dream-like state where he runs into three past warriors, Dragon Ranger, TimeFire, and Abarekiller as Mikito. They were impressed by his actions and deemed him worthy of being the sixth Go-Kaiger. When he wakes up, he has the Go-KaiCellular and tries to join the other Go-Kaigers, but is initially rejected by them. Will this Sentai fanboy ever become a Sentai warrior?

These next two pics shoe Go-KaiSilver in Gold Mode, and of the many faces of Go-JyuJin. AS mentined before, he can enter this Gold Mode through a special AnchorKey inserted into the bottom of the cellular. And Go-JyuJin has three forms, Go-JyuDrill, Go-JyuRex, and his robo form.

These next four scans are magazine covers that have both Kamen Rider OOO and Go-Kaiger news. These are proving to be two very popular series. And of course, Toei has done everything it can to promote the two coinciding anniversaries.

The rest of these scans are from a magazine/toy catalogue. Apparently, the joint gattai figures are very popular. And of course the rest of the magazine scans include images from both the movie and the series. All of which leaked onto the internet about a month ago.

That’s all for now. For those of you in the States, I hope your enjoying your day off. For everyone else, I hope that your Monday hasn’t been completely terrible. If anything else comes up, I’ll be sure to let you know.

UPDATE: You know, I knew when I started on this post someone was holding something back. Here are some more pics that I only just found.

All of these are from the 199 Heroes movie, just a taste of the final battle scene.

And this is the GIGANTIC collocetion of toys that will be slowly coming out during and after Go-KaiSilver debuts. And as much as I would like to own every last thing I see in these pictures, this is¬†all together¬†about $500 worth of stuff, probably. At least thtat’s what it would cost after import taxes and shipping. Oh well, one can dream…

UPDATE: (5/31/11) Guess what? I found even more pics! Take a look:

Okay, not a whole lot of new stuff here, but those are some pretty coll RangerKeys for GoseiKnight and GaoSilver!
