Go-Kaiger December Episode Summaries: The Hero Finally Rises!

Alright, new episode summaries are up for Go-Kaiger for this month, and this month we’ll get to see Ahim in action, Don’s heroic side, and their own little Christmas episode. Let’s make this Christmas-y!:

Episode 41: What I Don’t Want to Lose – 12/4
Aboard the Gigant Horse, the Emperor’s Elite Guards appear, heralding the arrival of the leader of the Zangyack Fleet, Emperor Akudos Gil, on Earth. With the express mission of defeating the Gokaiger, the Elite Guard Zatsurigu departs.

While Joe, Gai, and Aihm are out and about, they encounter Zatsurigu. When Aihm sees him, she looses her usually calm composure, entering into a violent fight with the monster.
What is the connection between Ahim and Zatsurigu? Don’t miss it!

Episode 42: The Strongest Man in the Universe – 12/11
To defeat the Gokaiger, Damaras finally makes comes to Earth, personally.

At the same time, Aihm stumbles upon a magazine article that talks about the “Hero, Don Doggoier”, and how he had gone missing. “Huh?! Hakase is a Legendary Hero?!” Could Hakase’s memory really have been lost? The Gokaiger try and see if eating delicious food will cause Hakase to remember something.

Then Damaras appears, with Basco as his right hand man, calling out Marvelous and the others. The Gokaiger’s Greatest Pinch is here!

Episode 43: To the Legendary Hero – 12/18
With little effort, Damaras effectively attacks the Gokaiger and beats all but Hakase, who is now aboard the GokaiGalleon alone.

Marvelous is taken captive, sentenced to a public execution in front of the people of Earth, as an example. “Alone…it’s impossible” is what Hakase mutters, about to give up…

What was the reason behind Hakase becoming a pirate? How can he defeat Damaras all by himself? The fight is about to Heat Up! Everyone, they need your support, we’re counting on you!

Episode 44: N/A – 12/25
Luka and Gai arrive at a place where children are decorating a Christmas Tree. There, Action Commander Bibaboo appears, and starts turning people into dolls! A boy they meet is also turned into a doll, and then Gai himself is turned into a doll, sacrificing himself in place of a young woman!

Left alone to fight, what is Luka to do? Can Gai and the others be returned to normal? “Protect Everyone’s Christmas!” Don’t miss it!

Go-Kaiger Ep.33 Raw: Suits? We don’t need no stinkin’ suits!

Well, here it is, the actual episode! IN this episode, which also happens to be the Dairanger tribute episode, Gai loses his Go-KaiCellular during a fight (eaten by this week’s Action Commander) and has doubts about whether or not he can truly consider himself a hero, that is, until he meets Tenkasei Ryo, the former Ryu Ranger of Dairanger, who remonds him of what it really means to be a hero. Check out the episode below:

Wow, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a really good out-of-suit fight. Of course, it does help to have someone who was in one of the best out-of-suit fights in all of tokusatsu be in the scene too. 😉

Episode 32: Chikara wo Hitotsu ni (Combine Our Powers) – (10/02) Gai and the others were injured by the true form of Basco. Hakase decides to create a new weapon, borrowing everyone else’s weapons in the process. He continues development on the weapon, but it is only ending in failure.

Furtheremore, the Action Commander Shieldon, who can repel any attack with his shield, appears. Although this only causes Hakase to worry more, he gets a hint from the words of Gai and Goro Hoshino, and is able to complete the GalleonBuster at last!

Episode 33: Hero Daaaa! (I’m a hero!) – 10/09
Gai’s GokaiCellular is swallowed by the new Action Commander, Zakyura. Gai can neither transform, or fight… The worrying Gai runs into a Delivery Man from a Chinese Restaurant. He turns out to be none other than the former Ryuuranger, Tenkasei Ryou!

Episode 34: Yume wo Kanaete (Dream Comes True) – 10/16/11
Luka’s childhood friend and businessman, Cain, will make an appearance in this episode. Action Commander Onenine appears. Furthermore, “Fulfill My Dream, Dynaman” was Kagaku Sentai Dynaman’s ending theme.

Yuki Kimisawa who previously played Kamen Rider W’s Kirihiko Sonozaki aka Nasca Dopant will play the role of Luka’s childhood friend.

Episode 35: Jigen no Mukou (Dimension on the Other Side) – 10/23 The Gaiark officer, Chirakashizuki appears.

Episode 36: Aibou Kaizoku (Parter Pirate) – 10/30
In front of the Gokaiger appeared a mysterious robot, whose name was Bonper! Former Go-OnRed, Esumi Sosuke, appears. The Gokaigers end up taking on Chirakashizuki and another Gaiark officer, Babaachuudo, to stop their attack on the Gunman World. However, the Gokaiger fall into a Gaiark trap! There hope lies in… Engine Machalcon!

It is also confirmed that Engine #13: Machalon will be voiced by Hiroaki Hirata, best known for his role as Sanji of One Piece, and Wild Tiger of Tiger & Bunny.

So, two tribute episodes, and a look into Luka’s past? This is going to be quite the month for the Go-Kaigers!

And it looks like the fun’s not stopping there! We have three more rumored episode summaries for November, and they include two more tribute episodes, and a look into Ahim’s past. Let’s take a look:

Go-Kaiger Dairanger Tribute Episode: Five-Star Pirates!

Looks like we’ve got some new info on the upcoming Dairanger tribute episode (Ep.33), and it looks like Gai’s back in the spotlight. Here’s the summary:

Episode 33: Hero daaaaa!!!! – 10/09
While at the super market, Luka and Gai meet the monster Bacula who is eating everything. Gai’s GokaiCellular ends up being eaten as well. Feeling down about what happened Gai is confronted by a single man…

Spoiler Alert! That mysterious person will be one of the Dairangers. 😛

The real question is, which one will it be? Will it be Tenkasei Ryo, a.k.a. Ryu Ranger? Or will it be another Dairanger?

And it also looks like this is going to be an episode with a lot of out-of-suit action, which is rarely seen anymore nowadays. Should be exciting!

Ikari Gai: Dead man Walking? Or walking on sunshine?

Ikari Gai, an interesting character, to say the least. The sixth Go-Kaiger, he’s a majorly geeky fanboy, and yet one of the coolest characters on the show. He became instantly loved (and hated) after his very first appearance because of the blatant fact that he is both the official representative of all Sentai fanatics, and the ultimate expression of the fanboy fantasy come true. Here is this incredibly nerdy fanboy, given a chance to be the very thing he obsesses about daily, and by three of the biggest legends in the Sentai universe no less. That would be like Dr.Tommy Oliver showing up at your door, handing you a morpher, and saying “It’s your turn now”. But with such a popular character, there’s bound to be rumors about him spread across the web, and there is one massive rumor associated with him that we’re focused on now: that, at some point, he could be killed off before the end of the series. There’s plenty of signs out associated with him that could very much point to that possibility, but there are also plenty of other signs that he won’t be. Here’s how it’s laid out so far:

Reasons why people think Gai will be killed off:

  1. His name. Now this might not seem like much, but that name has been given to other past Sentai senshi who were killed off, most notably Yuki Gai (Black Condor) who appeared in the Jetman tribute episode, as a ghost! What if the writers gave him that name because they planned on killing him off?
  2. When he recieved the Go-KaiCellular, he was in a coma, and was visited by the spirits of Mikito/AbareKiller, TimeFire, and Dragon Ranger. All three were past Sixth Rangers that were killed off by the end of their respective series. So was that another sign that Gai is doomed?
  3. Because rumors about him dying keep popping up. Honestly, I think most of it’s just persistent Gai haters and trolls putting it out there, but some of it could be genuine.

As you can see, there are some “arguements” for why people think Gai will one day walk the plank (sorry, couldn’t resist). But here’s some compelling arguements I’ve come up with for why myself and many others think Gai will live:

  1. Because he’s a geeky fanboy. When you get down to it, Gai has only a very loose association with these dead characters that have been mentioned or referenced to him. He has a completely different personality all together from the other characters that were mentioned. They were these tough, macho characters that often started out as the bad guy! Gai is as far from that as you can get.
  2. This is actually a new one I came up with after watching the last episode. Throughout that episode, while Yuki Gai was interacting with the other Go-Kaigers, Gai couldn’t even see him, he had no idea he was even there until the others told him about it. And you’d think Gai of all people would have seen him, especially since he was in a coma at one point. That sort of thing tends to happen in fiction. So what does that say about Gai’s fate?
  3. Toei has had a policy since the end of Hurricanger not to kill off any major heroic characters, due to then Japanese involvement in the Iraq war (needless to say, no involvement there anymore). And they’ve kept to that promise since then (the only exceptions have been bad guys that switched to the good side, which is rather lazy from a writing standpoint if you ask me). And since Gai has been a heroic character from the start, there’s no way they could kill him.
  4. Because they couldn’t kill him off even if they wanted too. He’s become too popular a character, to endearing a character, to just kill off. There would be so many people complaining about it, so many people ticked off enough to force the writers to bring the character back from the dead permanently. And I’m pretty sure that they wouldn’t want to deal with that at Toei.

In case you haven’t been able to tell, I’m on the side that believes Gai will live, that they won’t even think about killing him off. And I mean, really, why would they kill him off? What purpose would that hold in this story? This isn’t a dark, mature series, it’s about colorfully dress pirates looking for adventure and treasure. You can only get so serious with it. And besides, I like Gai. I can relate to him. His overbearing geekiness, his need to be a good person all around, his sometimes weird and off-center ways of doing things and view of the world. Honestly, I would be one of those extremely pissed off people that would complain every chance I’d get if they decided to kill of Gai. That’s just not going to happen, not under my watch.

Long live Go-KaiSilver!

Go-Kaiger Rumors: What’s the real reason behind Basco’s betrayl?! You mean he isn’t just a greedy blackheart that gives pirates a bad name?

Yeah, I know this pic isn’t even remotely related to the story, I just wanted to use it.

Anyway, some interesting rumors have popped up regarding Basco, and the possible reason for his betrayl. So far, the main reason that’s been presented in the series for his betrayl is simply out of greed; Zangyack offered him a ship, amnesty, and the status of privateer. And so far, his performance on the show has demonstrated how much of a lecherous dog he can be. But, what if all of that is just an act? Here’s what’s come up (these rumors come from a source I’m not overly familiar with, so I really wouldn’t take these rumors seriously if I were you):

  • Basco’s betrayal was planned by AkaRed. He gave him a secret mission but to perfectly fulfill it, he had to betray the Red Pirates.
  • AkaRed and Navi are still in the secret. Basco should join the Gokaigers sooner or later.
  • In addition, it seems that Gai dies at the end of the series.

So, what do you think? Was Basco only trying to gain favor with Zangyack as part of a secret mission for AkaRed, or is that just hogwash? And do you think they would ever actually kill off Gai?! I honestly can’t believe the rumor about Gai. I know he’s a living illusion to these fallen Sentai warriors that have appeared in the show, but there’s also a lot that tells me that they won’t kill him off. I’ll post my opinions about it later. As for Basco, I could almost believe it, but he just plays the traitor too well. If anyone else joins the Go-Kaigers, I have a feeling it will be someone that we haven’t run into yet. Yeah, I’ll post something about that too.

Anyway, those are the newest rumors that have come out so far, if anything else comes out (preferably something more substantial), I’ll be sure to let you know.
