Go-Kaiger November Episode Summaries and Future Tribute Episode Rumors.

Well, now that the Go-Onger tribute is out of the way, we can now look forward to an upcoming major battle for the Pirates. It’s robot vs. robot, and the action just keeps on coming! Check out the latest episode summaries:

Episode 37: The Strongest Decisive Battle Machine – 11/6/11
Barizorg appeared on Earth, commanding troops composed of Gormin, Sugormin, and the Emperor’s personal bodyguards, the Dogormin! Their plan is an attack on the GokaiGalleon…

Joe, becoming GokaiBlue, fights Barizorg, while the other Gokaiger take on the Dogormin. However, Walz Gil appears at the battle… Furthermore, the Strongest Decisive Battle Machine, Great Walz, flies out from the Gigant Horse. In the Gokaiger’s greatest pinch Marvelous is….

Episode 38: The Power to Sieze Dreams – 11/13/11
Having toppled the Gokaiger, Walz Gil begins his Complete Invasion plan. This time, will the Earth become just another possession of Zangyack? What is the fate of Joe and Barizorg’s connection? And Marvelous is….? Stand up, Young Space Pirates! Defeat Wals Gil with your strong, burning bonds!

Side note: Marvelous is surrounded by ??? in the 37 to 38 summaries, because he is going to have a dream talk with one AkaRed.

Episode 39: N/A – 11/20/11
Because of Navi’s Otakara Navigate, the Gokaiger head to Moroboshi High School. Gai informs the others that Moroboshi High is the school that the Denji Sentai Megaranger attended. However, it has been more than 10 years since they were here.

Even if they go there now, is there any chance of meeting the Megaranger? Date Kenta, the former MegaRed, appears in this Legend episode! Do Marvelous and the others…change uniforms with 6 students?! The monsters Moririn and Dororin appear…

Episode 40: N/A – 11/27/11
From beyond space and time, from the future of the 31st century, a Video Letter reaches the Gokaiger. The Sender? Timeranger’s TimeYellow, Domon. He informs the Gokaiger they must time travel back to “October 2, 2010 A.D.” If they go there, a certain great power may be able to be attained…. Pay attention to this episode full of surprises!

Side Note: It is confirmed that Agent no Metal Alice, Short no ZanKT 0, and Hone no Shitari appear in episode 40. Not only will this episode serve as an explanation for the Gokaiger’s appearance in the previous VS movie, but it will also probably be the first chronological appearance of Matrintis (ZanKT 0 being a prototype for the ZanKT Matroids), and maybe explain some stuff about Chimatsuri no Buredoran!

And we also have rumors on future episodes, this time dealing with Bioman, Fiveman, and possibly JAKQ tribute episodes:

Battle Fever and Denjiman’s powers are more than likely being saved for the Gavan movie, while Kakuranger’s tribute ep will follow the ep with Marvelous’ public execution. There’s rumors that the Kakurangers are involved in his escape (episode 43-44).

Episode 45 is titled “Resurrection Balzion” (TBA).  It involves Ackdos Gil creating a new Balzion and sending it to Earth to  challenge KanzenGokaiOh. The Gokaiger require Bioman’s Ultimate Power  to fight the Anti-Bio Particles.

Gou Shirou, former RedOne, shows up to train the Gokaiger and give them the Bioman’s power. BioHunter Silva will not appear, because his voice actor, Hayashi Kazuo,  was unavailable. Instead, Action Commander AquaMesser will pilot  Balzion.

Episode 46 is the would be Fiveman tribute episode, whether or not Basco has stolen this power is unknown. If Basco ends up as the final villain, the Emperor may not be around for too long.

According to rumors it seems there might be a JAKQ episode in there somewhere as well, apparently has Ackdos Gil reviving Atomic Witch, a former enemy of JAKQ. Bamba Soukichi, former Big One, appears on Sky Ace to help the Gokaiger.

Meanwhile, Luka looses her Ranger Key in the episode, making the rangers unable to use Big Bomber. The JAKQ Covack is ineffective. The episode will be a Luka focus.

And now, straight from the rumor mill, literally appearing while I was typing this, are some new rumors for the possible ending of Go-Kaiger. Not what you want to think about, I know, but it will eventually happen. Anyway, here’s the rumors on the possible Second Legend War:

Episode 48: The Decisive Battle of the Blue Sky
The Gokaiger pull out every trump card they can think of, but they cannot beat Ackdos Gil. The Emperor summons his forces to Earth, and starts a full scale attack.

Seeing the numbers they face, the Gokaiger loose heart, especially since the Ranger Keys had returned to their rightful owners. Just then, Akaranger, Kaijou Tsuyoshi, appears!

Episode 49: The Emperor, Dies
The Gokaiger are joined by the 34 Super Sentai with Akaranger, and regain their will to fight. The Second Legend War begins, and the battle goes to the Super Sentai. The Emperor is betrayed by Damaras, who kills him.

Episode (Finale): The Greatest Universal Treasure
Damaras, who had killed Akudos Gil, makes himself the new Zangyack Emperor, and declares war on the Super Sentai. Damaras descends to Earth, giving the Gokaiger a lot of trouble with his tremendous power.

The Gokaiger beat Damaras with a combination of the GalleonBuster and the Legend Dream, Damaras having been away from battle so long wasn’t up to the challenge. Just what is the Greatest Universal Treasure?!

A second Legend War? Damaras as Emperor? And will the combined efforts of all 35 Super Sentais be enough to save the world?!! We’ll have to see how this turns.

henshinGARB Catalogue 4: Or why people like to stop at trilogies.

Hey everyone! It’s that time of the season when there is absolutely no big toku news. So guess what I’m going to do? That’s right! I’m going to push my own stuff onto you! Because of such underwhelming demand, and an ever-expanding product list, I decided that it was time to publish a new catalogue. And this time, I’m including EVERYTHING that’s currently in the shop. I’ve got a lot of old stuff, a lot of new stuff, and a lot of stuff you might not even be interested in. So let’s get to it!

First up we have the henshinhead logo tee, available in multiple sizes and colors, available for men and women. Only $12.00.

New to the shop is this tee with the mini logo on the left side of the chest, so that you can have the logo of your favorite blog site on your heart. Available in multiple sizes and colors, for men and women, and for only $12.00.

Here we have the newly re-designed HENSHINHEAD RULES! tee, I’ve changed the font, and played around with the sizes, and you’ve got to admit, it looks nicer. Available in men’s and women’s sizes, in multiple colors, and available for only $10.00.

Still available are these re-designed Heroes for Japan Tees. Now, I know that the Super Hero Time Japan Relief Effort has been over for some time, and that I originally designed these shirts for that charity, but these are still cool designs, and the message is still the same. Available for only $12.00.

Also still available are these Still Standing Tees, showing the Kamen Rider statue in Miyagi after the tsunami devastated the area, still standing after a massive earthquake and a raging tsunami. The ultimate symbol of Japan’s strength and resilience. Available for only $16.00.

And of course, one of our favorites, the GOOOO-KAIJA! Tees. Both men’s and women’s sizes are available in multiple sizes and colors. Men’s shirt for only $12.00, and women’s slim fit AA shirt for $19.00.

And now for one of my favorites, the Don’t make me Push my Buttons! Tee. It’s a pun with a toku twist! Now available for women’s sizes. Available for $16.00.

We’ve now made it to our Toku Allegience line, and here we’re starting with Super Sentai. Based off of the Goranger costumes, it now includes Akaranger and Momoranger designs. Each available for only $12.00.

Also still available as part of the Toku Allegience line are these designs based off of Kamen Rider and Ultraman. Each also only $12.00.

Sorry ladies, I’m still working on female equivalent designs for Kamen Rider and Ultraman. But you can always get the Momoranger shirt.

Next up we have the popular Bouken Spirits Tees, featuring the Boukenger compass logo on the chest, which are equal in size and position as they appear on the Boukengers’ uniforms. Available in multiple sizes and colors, $12.00 for men’s, $19.00 for women’s.

And new to the shop is the Bioman Badge Tee. Because I’ve been watching a lot of the dubbed episodes of Bioman lately, I’ve become somewhat of a fan of the show, and wanted to express that in t-shirt form. Available in multiple sizes and colors, $12.00 for men’s, $19.00. for women’s.

And along with this line of retro series, I decided to through in these new Aura Power! Tees. With the Maskman logo in the proper place on the t-shirt as it was on the uniform,  even you can use the power of aura and kung fu skills to fight evil. Available in multiple sizes and colors, $12.00 for men’s, $19.00 for women’s.

And because I am apparently one of the few people who actually likes either version of this series, we have these Gingaman in a Lost Galaxy Tees. With the iconic Charlie Brown-esque jagged line marks across the midsection, these shirts properly pay tribute to this series. Available in multiple sizes, men’s muscle shirt $17.00,  women’s standard weight t-shirts only $12.00.

And now for a random series of buttons.

As you may or may not be able to tell, I really like buttons. We’ve got six different button designs, all available in small and large size buttons. The majority cost $5.00 for the small buttons, and $6.00 for the large buttons. The only exceptions are the Still Standing buttons, which are $4.00 for small, $5.00 for large.

So that is everything currently available in the shop, hope you guys like this stuff. If you’re interested in any of this stuff, or just want to check out the store, just click the henshinGARB link in the blogroll on the side, under the section labeled “Stuff I actually have anything to do with”, and it should take you straight there. And if it’s anymore of an enticement, there is a Spreadshirt special going on for the month of May, buy four short-sleeve shirts and get one free. Details in the coupon below. (Note: you do not need a physical copy of the coupon, just the coupon code listed below.)

UPDATE: Okay, I understand that the KRFan SUCKS! Tees were in bad taste, so I’ve gotten rid of them. But the sentiment is still there.

UPDATE: (5/21/11) Hey, added some new stuff, ckeck it out:

It’s all part of my new Abare Guts! line of products. We have men’s shirts available in red, blue, and black for $12.00, a yellow women’s shirt available for $19.00, and two sets of buttons for $5 and $6. So if that doesn’t entice you to buy something, I don’t know what will. And for anybody who just can’t find the link to the shop it’s right here: http://henshingarb.spreadshirt.com/

Could somebody buy something please?! I just can’t keep waiting on PaladinZeo to get paid. Come on, I will do whatever you want, make whatever you want, if you want me to modify the designs or make them available in different sizes or colors I’ll do it, just please say something. It’s all about the customer here at henshinGARB.

Go-Kaiger 199 Movie and Upcoming episodes: Pics and Rumors Galore!

Hey, it’s almost the end of the month, so it’s last chance to get in this month’s new scans, announcements, and rumors before May and the next round of stuff starts pelting people in the head. So let’s get in what we still can!

The official movie poster for the Go-Kaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Heroes movie (coming June 11th) and as you can see, there’s going to be just a boat-load of stuff in the movie. As the title says, there are going to be 199 past heroes in the movie, and it looks like everybody and their mama has been brought back to be in this movie. Between a mix of past actors returning and reprising their roles, a bunch of evil clones, and some of the biggest baddies to ever go up against a Sentai back from hell, this promises to be one big mindblowing, sensory-overloading blockbuster smash hit! And as more news comes out for this, more and more people seem to be coming out of the wood works and making an appearence in this film.

Of them is AkaRed! Knew he wasn’t dead! I wonder if this will confirm my theory that the AkaRed that was seen in Marvelous’ past was really someone else using a Mobirate with an AkaRed Ranger Key? Any way, he isn’t the only one back. Tsutomu Isobe (WolzardFire), Tetsu Inada (DekaMaster), Hochu Otsuka (Signalman), and Odawa Teruaki (NinjaRed/Hyuuga) have been confirmed as voiceover roles in the movie. And the list for the cast reprising their acting roles has just been expanded.

Makoto Naoya returns as Kaijo Tsuyoshi/Akaranger, Miyauchi Hiroshi as Banba Sokichi/Big One, Ohba Kenji as Oume Daigoro/DenjiBlue, Haruta Jyunichi as Kuroda Kanpei/GoggleBlack, Hagiwara Sayoko as Tachibana Rei/DynaPink, Sakamoto Ryosuke as Shiro Go/Red One, Satou Kenta as Hono Riki/RedTurbo, Wada Kenichi as Ryo/Ryu Ranger, and Kikuchi Mika as Umeko/DekaPink. And I’m pretty sure the total list is right there in the corner, but unfortunatly I can’t read Japanese. I can only guess that that’s the whole list. Anyway, here are some more movie screenshots.

And so far that’s what I have for the movie. Now let’s look at some stuff coming up in the series!

Yes, this is what ShinkenGo-KaiOh looks like, and it is sweet! That should be appearing in the upcoming episode, along with Shiba Kaoru fighting Joe for the ShinkenRed Key. And we get a look into Joe’s past and an in-depth look at the person who trained him.

Above is the person that trained Joe, named Sid, and turns out over the next couple of weeks that he is now Barizog. Joe will fight him in ep.12 trying to bring his memory back. It’s also rumored that he will be Go-KaiSilver. And this episode will also show Joe and Marvelous meeting and fighting together for the first time.

And that’s everything… no, wait, I forgot something… oh, yeah that’s right. It was THIS:

BOOM! That’s right! Zyuranger in Episode 11! That (hopefully) means that the Zyuranger tribute episode will be up soon. But it looks like the Carranger Tribute will be next, so who know’s how long we’ll have to wait for the Zyuranger tribute. However, in episode 14, it looks like an old friend of Marvelous mysteriously shows up, so who knows, could be a trap, could be Go-KaiSilver. Let’s watch and find out!

UPDATE: (4/29/11) Here we go, one last minute pic for the month of April.

Hopefully next month we’ll be able to see an actual, non-editted photo of this guy.

Go-Kaiger Gallery: Pics from the upcoming movie.

Here are some pics that have been making their way across the interwebs of the upcoming Go-Kaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle. Enjoy:

Ok, so some of these pics warrant an explanation. The first pic is actually a new spin on the Legendary War, showing that these other extra warriors also fought in it, though there’s no explanation as to when or how. The second is the team-up henshin formation of the two teams. The next three pics show both the Go-Kaigers the and Goseigers actually fighting past senshi. No explanation as to why yet, but something will probably pop out of the rumor mill sometime soon. As you can see, Go-KaiPink is shooting at BattleFrance and BattleKenya, SuperGoseiRed is taking one the four primary members of JAKQ, and Go-KaiRed is fighting various red senshi, including MegaRed and BoukenRed (and I think that might be GoRed just outside the picture, it looks like the sidearm they used in that series). The next two pics are also related, as the Go-Kaigers and Goseigers will be split up at the start of the main fight into other “spaces”, much like in what happened in Shinkenger Vs. Go-onger. Alata and Marvelous are sent to a space filled with Biibis and actually go up against a revived Burajira (what does it take to kill that guy?). Moune and Luka (seen henshining together) end up in a space similar to Edo period Japan, with Agri and Joe it seems. It’s unknown what will happen to the others. The next pic shows Alata stealing the Goseiger Ranger Keys, although most of the blogs say that he’s just stealing GoseiKnight’s Key. In the beginning of the movie, the Goseigers steal their Keys from the Go-Kaigers, which gives them back their powers. The next two pics are two of the former enemies that will be revived in this movie. The first is Black Cross King, Black Cross Fuhrer as he use to be called, the enemy of Goranger, who is back from hell to take revenge on the Super Sentai teams, and revives other past enemies of Super Sentai to fight with him. The next is a revived Burajira, who is now calling himself “Fukkatsu no Kyuuseishu no Burajira” (Revival Messiah Burajira), and he now sports the symbol of the Black Cross Army. There are also rumors that Yogoshimakuritain of Go-onger and Dagon of Magiranger will also be revived, along with others yet to be named. And the last pic is of the Go-Kaigers and Goseigers together using the new “Super Sentai Bazooka”, not much word on where or how they get it, or who gives it to them.

That’s it for now, if I find out anything else, I’ll be sure to let you know.

-M.C., the Quantum twin.

UPDATE: It seems that, at least according to the rumors, that the reason they are fighting these other senshi is because Black Cross stole the treasure chest that had the all the Ranger Keys, and used those powers to make evil versions of all these senshi. But like anything else, it’s just a rumor for now.

UPDATE: (3/24/11) Some more pics have surfaced let’s take a look.

The first shows that Satoru/BoukenRed, Saki/Go-onYellow, Chiaki/ShinkenGreen, and Genta/ShinkenGold will be making guest appearenes in the movie (is it just me, or does Chiaki look really short in that pic). The second has Go-KaiPink and GoseiPink going up against 11 past pink senshi [clockwise from left, OhPink, GaoWhite, TimePink, GoPink, MagiPink, BoukenPink, DekaPink, PinkFive(Bioman), MegaPink, WhiteSwan(Jetman), Houou Ranger(Dairanger)], enforcing the rumor that they will go up against evil versions of the past senshi in the movie. If anything else pops up, I’ll be sure to let you know.

UPDATE: (3/26/11) New pic for episode 7, where it is confirmed that Jan/GekiRed will be appearing, along with Master Xia Fu. There may be others, but I’m not sure.

More to come!

Super Sentai Anniversarys: A closer look at the team make ups.

Since this year is considered the 35th anniversary of Super Sentai, we tend to look back at all the past seasons of the series. And while I was doing that, I noticed an unusual, and somewhat unnoticed, trend with Sentai Anniversary Series. Until now with Go-Kaiger, almost every Anniversary Sentai has included a member that wore black. Just take a look back at the last major anniversary.

The last anniversary series was GoGo Sentai Boukenger, whose team included BoukenBlack as a member of the core team. Now I know that a single instance isn’t enough to build a whole case, so let’s go back another five years.

The 25th Anniversary series, Hyakujyuu Sentai Gaoranger, also featured a black senshi, GaoBlack, and was the first to have a Vs. Super Sentai special (Well, the first to have that as an official title). Now, mathematically speaking, if the usual pattern for teams by season was to alternate between green and black, then either this series should have included a green senshi, or Boukenger should have had a green senshi with Go-Kaiger having a black senshi. But since they have played around with how they make the teams, you know, with three member core teams and repeating color schemes, this has thrown this pattern off. But these aren’t the only two examples.

Ninja Sentai Kakuranger was considered the 15th Anniversary before they readjusted for the gap year between JAKQ and Battle Fever J, and of course includes NinjaBlack, who was also the first actual American to play in a Super Sentai series. Before then, the only Americans in the series were just characters, not actual actors. It also had the Super Sentai World special that premiered a week before the start of the series. But the main thing here is that this series also had a black senshi. But this isn’t the last example.

Kousoku Sentai Turboranger is the 10th Anniversary series, and included BlackTurbo. This series had a special called Super Sentai Tamashii that also premiered a week before the actual series, and included all the previous sentais. Now this was considered the first official anniversary series. While they have celebrated the series anniversary every five years since this series, they did not include what is the fifth anniversary, Sun Vulcan. However, since including that series would go against my premise, I won’t cover them.

I will, however, go over the one exemption to my premise, the one other Anniversary Series that includes a green senshi.

This, of course, is Gekisou Sentai Carranger (or should I say CAAAARRRR-RREEENJAA!), which is considered the 20th Anniversary series, after the adjustment for the gap year, and features GreenRacer, which makes it the first official Anniversary series to have a green senshi, beating Go-Kaiger by 15 years (holy crap, has it been that long?!).

But what we still have to wonder is, why is their such an affinity for black senshi in these Anniversary Series? Is it simply a coincidence, or do they purposely choose that team setup again and again. Well, it’s probably a mix between coincidence and aesthetics. After all, why do any of the teams have the color scheme that they do have? When the creators of the series start to work on a new series, they probably already have certain themes in mind, and they probably go through a few uniform designs before they decide what looks and works best for that series. There isn’t any written rule that they necessarily have to use alternate color schemes from season to season, otherwise there wouldn’t be teams with both on them, or teams with neither of them. The only thing that we can really be sure is that, at least as far as Anniversary seasons are concerned, their will be five of them, as a way to pay homage to the original Goranger.

Will you look at that: Gender Reassignment in Go-Kaiger

Now I know what your thinking from the title, “Holy Crap! What kind of show are they making?”, but calm down, it’s not that kind of gender reassignment. Although now that you mention it, who are you to judge?! But seriously, no, it’s not that at all. This has more to do with the speculation over how many members Go-Kaiger will end up with. You see, when the rumors about Go-Kaiger started popping up, a good deal of them dealt with the possibility that there may be more than one senshi with the same color, like say, a male and female yellow, or a male and female blue. Other rumors included the possibility that there would be a number of extra senshi that would have a wide spectrum of colors in order to fill the color gap, such as the Go-KaiBlack rumors. But, according to recently released photos and screenshots, it seems that neither of these rumors were ever true.

There are two main sources that put the final nails in the coffin for these rumors. The first is the released footage from the Goseiger Vs. Shinkenger movie, that shows the entire squadron changing into red senshi from the previous five seasons. That’s a huge indicator that show that clearly any one of them can turn into any previous senshi. The second source comes from a magazine (publication unknown to myself)that has both a two-page spread where each of the senshi are surround by all the previous senshi they will change into in the show AND a foldout poster that feature them in the center and images of the team changed into previous teams organized around the poster. And let me put it this way, there are a number of them who are wearing skirts now that weren’t before, and there are even a couple missing skirts.

Well, here’s the skinny of how the teams will be worked out. Basically, all past yellow senshi are now female, all past blue are male, and Go-KaiGreen will mostly be changing back-and-forth between green and black. Now it’s not completely strict to that. Go-KaiPink, for example, will change into Black Bison from Liveman, KuwagataRaijer, GekiChopper, and Go-OnBlack. Go-KaiYellow will also take the role of Big One from JAKQ, and ChangeMermaid. And Go-KaiGreen will also change into KabutoRaijer. And in two cases the full team isn’t there. SunVulcan only has three senshi, and Abaranger doesn’t include AbareKiller. The only real consistency is that, at least on that poster, red is always male. But considering the possibility that any of them could be any one of those past senshi, who knows what could happen!

But, at the end of the day, who can really say for certain what will happen, and who cares? As long as they do a decent job with it, and they’re able to get past the problems that have shown up in other series that have done the same thing already (although I would like to say that I liked Kamen Rider Decade, even if some people absolutely hated it). And besides, when they’re not past senshi, they’re pirates, and pirates are always cool, mostly.

Argh!

-M.C., the quantum twin
