Kamen Rider Fourze Scans: New States, New Switches, and New Riders!

New scans time, which means a new look at what’s coming down the road. And for Fourze, that means the in-show reveal of his Elek State, a look at some new Astro Switches, and some very interesting Movie Wars MEGAMAX news. So let’s get this post in the air!

First, we have a massive pile of scans for Fourze’s Elek state, but no big reveals about it. You can look over them anyway:

Oh, so that’s how he changes into his Elek State. Mystery solved. 😛

And with that, we can move onto the new Switches!

These are all Switches set to be revealed in October. From No.11-16, we have:

  • Astro Switch 11 – Scissors
  • Astro Switch 12 – Beat
  • Astro Switch 13 – Chain Arrays
  • Astro Switch 14 – Smoke
  • Astro Switch 15 – Spike
  • Astro Switch 16 – Winch

Here’s the new switches in action:

And next, we have a shaded pic of Fourze’s Fire State, which uses an unkown red Switch, and is equiped with the Hi-Hack Gun Module.

Now that we’ve covered that, let’s deviate slightly for bit and talk about this scan:

Yep, looks like JK got into the KRC too, but Kengo seems to be very upset about it.

And finally, we have scnas featuring two new Riders for the Movie Wars MEGAMAX!

On the left we have Kamen Rider Nadeshiko, who will be in the Fourze part of the movie, and on the left we have Kamen Rider Poseidon, who will appear in the OOO part of the movie. Not much has been revealed about Poseidon, other than the alternate version of the OOODriver he wears, and his unique Core Medals which feature sea creatures (no confirmed identities of the Core Medals themselves). However, we have learned quite a bit about Nadeshiko.

Nadeshiko is a high school student that wants to work with Fourze. And she becomes a romantic interest for Gentaro, who will apparently fall in love with her. I guess they’re covering the “teen romance” base with this character. No word on whether or not she’ll appear in the series. And as you can see, she sports a more retro-looking spacesuit outift, with a blue version of the FourzeDriver that only has two slots for the arms.

This scan also confirms the rumors that the Fourze part of the movie will take place during the Amanogawa Sky High Festival.

Well, that’s all for Fourze news, if anything else pops up, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Climax Heroes Fourze Cover Art Revealed: Riders on Parade!

Here’s the cover art for the upcoming Climax Heroes installment Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze. The game itself comes out December 2011 for 5891 yen.

What I would like to know is, why did they go with two different covers for the different versions of the game? Why not just stick with one or another? Anyway, what I really want to know is, which is your favorite? Do you prefer the PSP version’s cover art, or the Wii’s? From an artistic POV, I prefer the PSP version more, though from a marketing perspective, the Wii’s version get’s the point of the game across slightly better. What do you think?

Kamen Rider Club NES videogame: No, Fourze can’t travel through time. He just happened to start the newest branch of the club

Talk about retro…

Look at what GekiDan over at Jefusion managed to dig up:

Video Game Ephemera’s latest feature spotlights a Bandai press pamphlet from the 1989 Summer Consumer  Electronics Show revealing, a NES Kamen Rider game entitled “Kamen Rider Club: Gekitotsu Shockerland.”

According to the site, it is a scrapped localization  for the popular Kamen Rider series. “Ride with Mask Riders on their deadly mission into the nuclear-active Shockerland to beat down and destroy its ruthless leader.”

Here’s a video of the gamplay:

Well, what do you think of the game? You could play as either Ichigo, Nigo, or V3, and it looks decievingly simple (though a little too influenced by the Super Mario franchise). Would you have bought this game in 1989? Or, if you happened to live in Japan back then, did you buy it in 1988? (It came out in Japan in 1988, and released everywhere else in 1989).

Kamen Rider Fourze Scans and Climax Heroes Announcement: Still hasn’t left the Launch Pad, but has already taken off!

Well, like the title says, we haven’t seen much of anything involving Fourze, but he’s already all over the place! Here, we have some scans from upcoming episodes of Kamen Rider Fourze, and an official announcement for his first videogame, Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze. Well, someone’s been busy!

First, here are the latest scans, taken from Figure-Oh magazine:

For those of you expecting some form of context for these pics, I don’t have any.

Onto the videogame announcement!

After the success of last year’s title, Namco Bandai has announced a new title for it’s Climax Heroes game. The new installment, released for Kamen Rider’s 40th Anniversary, will be called Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze, and will star the titular Rider himself.

In addition to last year’s roster, which included a majority of the Heisei Riders, this latest installment will include new characters, namely Kamen Riders Ichigo, Nigo, V3, Amazon, Black and Black RX. Also included is Shadowmoon as one of the bosses in story mode. Gotta show the Showa Riders a little love every now and then.

New features have also been announced for this latest installment, the first revealed being a new 2-on-2 VS Stage. More to be revealed as we approach the release date.

Speaking of which, the game will be released on the PSP, sometime this winter.         (price TBA)

Well, that’s it for Fourze news right now, if anything else pops up, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Saban Brands registers the name “Power Rider”: Not again! I’m not sure if I can take it this time….

Saban brands has registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office something called “Power Rider”. No confirmation on what it is of could be, but that hasn’t stopped any speculation about it. For those of you who might know, Saban Brands once claimed that they had licenced the footage from the Kamen Rider Decade/Shinkenger crossover special. So, is this another attempt at a Kamen Rider adaptation, of is this something else entirely?

For those of you who may know, Saban first attempted to adapt a Kamen Rider series way back in the mid-90’s, when the popularity of MMPR was very high and still climbing. Their first attempt was simply called “Masked Rider”, and was based off of footage from Kamen Rider Black RX, and some footage from Kamen Rider ZO. The series barely made it through it’s first season, inevitably failing due to the now-deceased “Power Rangers Stigma” (i.e., they tried to hard to copy the Power Rangers style of writing and storytelling, and it was evetually written off by viewers and critics).

Then years later (or two years ago depending on your perspective), Adness adapted Kamen Rider Ryuki under the name “Kamen Rider Dragon Knight”. While the series failed in the US (so much so that the last two episodes didn’t even air, and you had to go online to see them), it was very successful outside the US, especially in Japan.

And as a little something else to add to all of this, KRDK director Steve Wang mentioned at last year’s Power Morphicon that he would be interested in adapting either 555 or Kabuto, so who knows.

I’m not sure I really want to know at this point, every attempt at adapting a Kamen Rider series has failed, for one reason or another, despite Kamen Rider’s overwhelming success in other countries (besides Japan). I just don’t know if I could take another failure. We’ll just have to wait and see where this goes.
