Great Battle Full Blast Announced for PSP: Riders and Gundams and Ultras Oh My!

Looks like with all of these major anniversaries hitting all at the same time (which is oddly coincidental but welcomed all the same), the good people over at Namco Bandai are feeling a little nostalgic for the days when Banpresto was the king of franchise crossover games. Last week, we got an announcement for the Lost Heroes game for the Nintendo 3DS, and now we have an official announcement for a new Great Battle game featuring characters from (once again) Kamen Rider, Ultraman, AND Gundam. Talk about a winning combination!

Alright, so here’s the main info on the game from Siliconera:

Freedom Gundam, the original Gundam, Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Decade, Ultraman, and Ultraman Mebius are confirmed characters. In each stage, you get to pick three of them. The game has a total 36 assist characters, twelve from each series, so it sounds like Namco Bandai has plenty to reveal. Reserve The Great Battle and you’ll get even more assist characters. Early copies include a product code for: Justice Gundam, Gun Cannon, Ultraman Hikari, Zoffy (Ultraman series), Kamen Rider #2, and Kamen Rider Kuuga.

Great Battle Full Blast will come out on March 1 in Japan. Pick up the Twin Battle Box for 11,530 yen ($150) and you’ll get Battle Dodgeball 3, a new sports game from Banpresto’s Super Famicom series, and an eight CD soundtrack collection.

Wow, they have a lot of confidence that this game will sell. I wonder if they’ll revive one of Banpresto’s old games that featured Super Sentai along with Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and a few other Henshin Heroes? They could very easily bridge the gap between Kamen Rider and the gigantic partners he’ll have in these games. 😛

New Climax Heroes Fourze Reveals: Wait, there’s more?

Hey everybody! We’ve got some new info on the upcoming game Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze, straight from the official Namco Bandai site. These newly revealed game features include:

  • Kamen Rider Fourze Elec States have access to the other switches too.
  • In the trailer, we saw a narration when Amazon did his Daisetsudan explaining the attack. This will be in the game for the Showa Characters specials.
  • Jōji Nakata (OOO Narrator) and Nobuyuki Hiyama (Fourze Narrator) will be doing the voice for the narration parts, you will be able to choose one of them but having it is completely optional.
  • There are still characters that were not revealed and we need to look forward to them.
  • You always have Rocket, Drill, Launcher and Radar and you choose four other switches, one for each limb, before battle.
  • Fourze Fire States is pretty much confirmed. On Elec’s section it says that Fourze also has another/other state change and there is one more ??? box in that section for something Fourze specific.

Wow, this is a suprisingly big game. Where will they find room for all of those things AND a host of unrevealed new characters?  We’ll just have to wait to see what they come up with.

BTW, Which narrator would you prefer to listen to in the game?

Namco Bandai announced earlier today (November 7th) that they would be offering a new SNS Sentai card game title, Super Sentai Wars, on the Japanese social networking service GREE. It will feature past and present characters from Himitsu Sentai Goranger all the way to Kaizoku Sentai Go-Kaiger.

Throughout the card game, you can collect a number of cards to enhance the power of you squadron, and you can build collections for different types of cards.

New Climax Heroes Fourze Screenshots: OOO still kicks ass, even in someone elses game. Lol

Hey, the newest rounds of screenshots from the upcoming game Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze have been released, this time featuring the new tag-team system, and all the updates to OOO in this game, which includes all of his added Combos, new attacks, and some tag-team action with Birth and Proto-Birth. So where’s Fourze suppose to come in? 😛

In this set, we see OOO using ShaUTa and TaJaDoru against various opponents. With these two, OOO has several projectile attacks available. And he has finishers for all of his Combos, such as the TaJaDoru final attack “Prominence Drop” shown above.

Featured here, we have the two strongest Combos available to OOO, the PuToTyra and BuraKaWani Combos. We can see BuraKaWani using his finisher “Warning Ride”, and PuToTyra is using the ever popular Tail Whip (which is [effective]).

Now we come to Kamen Rider Birth, who has full access to his BirthDay form, as well as his individual armaments. And OOO has to steal the spotlight again, this time with three of his Combos, GataKiriBa, RaToraTa, and SaGoZo.

And finally we have these screenshots showing the new tag-team system, with the two Births fighiting Ichigo, and OOO and Birth teaming up to take down W. Depending on which characters are paired together, there will be special team-up combos and finishers.

Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze will be released for the PSP and Wii in December for 5981 yen.

Kamen Rider Fourze Scans and Climax Heroes Announcement: Still hasn’t left the Launch Pad, but has already taken off!

Well, like the title says, we haven’t seen much of anything involving Fourze, but he’s already all over the place! Here, we have some scans from upcoming episodes of Kamen Rider Fourze, and an official announcement for his first videogame, Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze. Well, someone’s been busy!

First, here are the latest scans, taken from Figure-Oh magazine:

For those of you expecting some form of context for these pics, I don’t have any.

Onto the videogame announcement!

After the success of last year’s title, Namco Bandai has announced a new title for it’s Climax Heroes game. The new installment, released for Kamen Rider’s 40th Anniversary, will be called Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze, and will star the titular Rider himself.

In addition to last year’s roster, which included a majority of the Heisei Riders, this latest installment will include new characters, namely Kamen Riders Ichigo, Nigo, V3, Amazon, Black and Black RX. Also included is Shadowmoon as one of the bosses in story mode. Gotta show the Showa Riders a little love every now and then.

New features have also been announced for this latest installment, the first revealed being a new 2-on-2 VS Stage. More to be revealed as we approach the release date.

Speaking of which, the game will be released on the PSP, sometime this winter.         (price TBA)

Well, that’s it for Fourze news right now, if anything else pops up, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross Trailer

The first full promotional trailer for the upcoming Super Sentai Wii game title Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross has been released. It features five sentais, including Go-Kaiger, Goseiger, Shinkenger, Go-Onger, and Goranger, in a Musou-style combat game where, like in the series, you have to fight the main monster on foot, and then finish them off in the team mecha! Let’s check out the trailer:

Not bad, not bad at all. And for having so many characters, they didn’t have to sacrifice too much in the way of character and gameplay resolution.

Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross will be available September 8th for 5800 yen.

Kamen Rider App Game: Scanning Charge!

Namco Bandai released their new game at the 2011 Tokyo Toy Show, the Kamen Rider AR CARDASS game! The format is similar to the Ganbaride Arcade game, but for “iDevices” (smart devices) with a camera and iOS 4.0.

The game works similar to the Ganbaride Arcade Game, only instead of scanning the card, the AR system scans the AR code on the card to collect it’s info.

Here’s the official game description from iTunes:

“Call out a Kamen Rider from the AR logo written on your Carddass card! If you win the battle initiated with the rider that is challenged, the rider of the card can be registered to your collection! Build up your team with as many new riders as you can! See the official site for more details about the “Kamen Rider AR carddass!”

If you want to get the most out of the game, you’ll need to make sure that the card has the AR logo on it. Otherwise it won’t be compatible with the game. Even if you don’t have the cards for certain characters, you can use AR codes from other collectibles, such as special coins, or you can get special collectibles from Gashapon using the Collections feature.

Here’s a video demonstration of the app: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zByGkU3NKtI&feature=player_embedded

And the app itself is available in the Japanese iTunes store: http://itunes.apple.com/jp/app/id429607009?mt=8
