Kyoryuger Plot Revealed: Zyuranger 2.0?

“Long ago, in the time of the dinosaurs, the earth was invaded by forces from outer space. The only people capable of the stopping them was a team known as the Kyouki Ryu no Sha, the People of the Strong Dragons, or, Kyoryuger for short. Now, in the modern world, they return using the powers of the Beast Batteries to fight off this revived threat.”

Now, I’ve already been seeing complaints that the plot has the same basic premise as Zyuranger, but since that was to first Sentai to feature dinosaurs, and it’s going to coincide with the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers, that shouldn’t be that much of a surprise. (Not saying there’s any sort of official tie-in, just that there may be some unspoken influences.)

Kyoryuger premieres February 17th, 2013.

Go-Kaiger Ultra-Post: Haden Ni Ikuze! Until the last episode!

Yes, this is it, the long awaited Ultra-Post for Go-Kaiger (and so we’re clear, I don’t care if their isn’t a hyphen between the “Go” and “Kaiger”, that’s just the way I spell it), and the over-all theme of this post is “the beginning of the end”, because we’re down to the last two episodes, with the finale (Ep.51) on February 19th. And while the series may be ending, the franchise is still in full swing, with both a leading role in Superhero Taisen, and new Go-Kaiger toys being released along with the upcoming Go-Buster toy line (and yes, that’s the official spelling for the new series, you’re welcome). And of course, we still have about a months worth of news to cover in a single post, so let’s get to it!

First off, let’s go over the newest episode summaries for the last three episodes, where  they have an all-out battle with Zangyack!:

Episode 50: Title- Kessen no Hi (Day of the Great Battle) Airs- 2/12/12 Summary-

Zangyack is advancing their final plans, which includes an all out attack on the Gokaiger, and the ultimate destruction of Earth! It has been revealed that the Greatest Treasure in the Universe can, and must, be used to wipeout Zangyack’s Great Fleet, completely. The Gokaiger are hesistant to do so, wondering what their compensation would be.

Episode 51 (Final Episode): Title- Sayonara Uchuu Kaizoku (Goodbye Space Pirates) Airs- 2/19/12 Summary-

The Gokaiger engage in a life-or-death struggle against the Zangyack. What will the Gokaiger do with the Super Sentai’s 34 Great Powers? One after the other, strong enemies gather to stand in the Gokaiger’s way….

And we also have the title of the last two episodes, which are:

  • Episode 50: The Day of Battle
  • Episode 51: Farewell Space Pirates

And now for some new scans, which feature the final EPIC fight between Basco and Go-KaiRed, the Greatest Treasure in the Universe, the second Legend War, and much more!:

These scans below come from the first official Volume of the Go-Kaiger RangerKey Book:

How is the book cover the smallest scan?

Anyway, This is book one, as there will be future volumes to come out with future RangerKey releases, such as these seen here:

Yep, those are SIX coming RangerKey sets, for Hurricanger, Boukenger, Dekaranger, Gekiranger, Kamen Rider OOO, and a 2nd set for Go-Buster, which features the 4th & 5th Go-Busters and the new BuddyRoid (which I will cover in a separate post).

Now let’s move on to some confirmed and rumored returning actor appearances for these last three episodes:

Yes, this already happened, but it’s so cool it’s just worth going over. for Ep.49 (The Greatest Trasure in the Universe, 2/5) we had a 5-in-1 tribute episode for SunVulcan, Changeman, Flashman, Maskman, and Fiveman. And for this tribute episodes, we had the following returning actors:

Takayuki Godai (Takayuki Hiba/Vul Eagle II), Kazuoki Takahashi (Shou Hayate/Change Gryphon), Kihachiro Uemura (Dai/Green Flash), Issei Hirota (Akira/Blue Mask), and Ryou Narushima (Remi Hoshikawa/Five Yellow).

For Ep.50 (The Day of The Deciding Battle, 2/12), we have:

Seiju Umon (credited under Aohisa Takayasu), who previously played Mammoth Ranger Goushi in Zyuranger, Louis Yamada LIII as Professor Shuichiro Amachi of Tensou Sentai Goseiger, and Kaoru Hirata as Yuka Yamazaki of Mahou Sentai Magiranger. Also, it looks like the kid from Ep.3 will be returning as well, for what reason is hard to say.

And confirmed to appear in the final episode (Ep.51 Farewell Space Pirates, 2/19):

Naoya Makoto, who played Tsuyoshi Kaijo/AkaRanger in Goranger, and who also appeared in the movie Go-Kaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Heroes. And we also have…

Atsushi Harada, who played Shou Tatsumi/GoGreen of GoGoV. He confirmed his appearance in the episode via Twitter.

Other rumored appearances include Yumi Sugimoto, who played Miu Sutou/Go-OnSilver in Go-Onger, and Keiya Asakura, who played Yohei Hama/BlueTurbo in Turboranger.

And finally, we end this post with some news and info on Go-Kaiger Vs. Gavan.

First, here’s a full trailer for the movie:

Next, we have a full summary for the movie:

The movie opens with the Gokai Galleon being attacked by Gavan’s ship. It’s a really nice scene that makes use of the added budget. Gai’s reaction when he realizes that it’s Gavan is priceless.
Gokaiger vs Gavan Film Major Update Gavan introduces himself and the Gokaigers protest that they were pretty much given the blessing of Dekaranger crew, but Gavan remains silent before kicking their five collective asses, arresting them, and delivering them to his superior.
Said superior turns out to be Zangyack in disguise, introduces Gavan Bootleg, and immediately tries to execute the pirates. Before they can, Gavan releases them and returns their changers. There’s a short-ish fight before the Gojyudrill makes its entrance and rescues the crew. Gavan, however, is captured and transported to the worst prison in the universe.
Gokaiger vs Gavan Film Major Update Back on the Galleon, Marvelous reveals that Gavan saved his life ten years ago, basically by giving him the courage to jump from a platform that was about to explode.
The stroll down memory lane is interrupted by Basco. He tells them about the space prison that Gavan is being held at, knowing that they’ll go off to rescue him and leave the Galleon unguarded. He leaves them alone to figure out how they’re going to get to the prison to rescue Gavan.
Daigorou Oume, Shiro Akebono This is interrupted when Gavan comes walking down a path while talking to a giant Panda. Gai is quick to point out that it’s not Gavan, but Battle Kenya. About five seconds later, Denji Blue walks over. Luka thinks they both look like Gavan, but Gai denies it. Still, they get the idea to use the Battle Kenya and Denji Blue keys to open up a doorway to the space prison where Gavan is being held.
Once they break into the prison, they come across Jealoushito and some of the previous Super Sentai enemies. Having been in prison for awhile, they are a kind of horny and begin to lay flattery on Joe, Luka, Don, and Ahim.
Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Back on Earth, Basco is about to get aboard the unguarded Gokai Galleon, but is stopped by the Go-Busters team. He thinks they’re impostors, but they tell him that they’re the 36th and newest Super Sentai team, the Go-Busters. They fight Basco to a stalemate, but since Sally was distracted, they’re able to get the upper hand.
In the space prison, the Gokaigers free the inmates after encountering a large group of Gormin. Gai and Joe hold them off while the others go off to find Gavan, who is being tortured by Gavan Bootleg. The Zangyack use the portal technology to stall them.
Don Dogoier with Kaze no Shizuka and Kegaleshia Thanks to the portals, doors in the space prison now lead to other places in the universe. Luka and Doc wind up in Europe fighting an army made up of the family of the Big Brother/Little Brother Zangyak. Ahim winds up fighting another Zangyak general near an ocean.
Marvelous alone makes it through to the room where Gavan is being held. He fights Gavan bootleg and, using a ricochet technique that really need to be seen to be believed, frees Gavan, reversing the roles they were in ten years ago.
The split up team then breaks reality by shooting out the ground beneath their respective feet, reunite in the basement of the space prison, and use a Silver Charged rising strike through the “portals” that takes out most of the Zangyack generals and returns everyone to Earth. It’s hard to convey just how awesome this was.
Gavan Bootleg Back on Earth, Gavan fights Gavan bootleg while the Gokaigers fight the Zangyack general. They use an all pink change, an all white change, and an all red change. Gavan bootleg is destroyed after being stabbed and sliced in half while an exploded car burns in the background.
Once the Zangyack general is defeated, he grows in size and has telekentic powers that he uses to shuffle buildings into GoJyuGokaiOh. Machfalcon joins the party and forms Kanzen GokaiOh, which then surfs around on the back of Gavan’s dragon.
Even THAT isn’t quite enough to put away the general, so Marvelous and Gavan do a combined Final Wave attack while standing on the head of the dragon (that is also carrying Kanzen GokaiOh). The combined Final Wave and GokaiOh attacks finally put away the general.
Gokaiger vs Gavan Film Major Update Afterwards, Gavan tells Marvelous that he’s happy to see what he’s become. Not just a pirate, but a good man. The former Battle Kenya and Denji Blue meet up with the crew. The Gokaigers return their respective keys to them and all transform. We see Gavan pose with Denji Blue and Battle Kenya while Gai flips out and asks for their autographs.

And for some very exciting news: it debuted at #2 at the Box Office, bringing in 159,227 people and grossing 160,750,000 Yen (2.06 million USD) in it’s opening weekend. So Congrats to them on that!

And with that, this post is finally finished! Do I expect this to be one of the last posts I do for Go-Kaiger? Not by a long shot! Especially since there’s still two episodes left, and they’ll also be in the upcoming Kamen Rider X Super Sentai: Superhero Taisen movie this Spring. Plus, they’re just too popular to completely let go of, so who knows what the future may bring for our beloved Space Pirates. But for now, just look forward to the finale!

Movie Wars MEGAMAX Mega-Post: Whose #1? They’re #1!

Well, definitely putting this off for way too long. Here’s everything MEGAMAX from the past week!

First things first, Kamen Rider X Kamen Rider Movie Wars MEGAMAX debuted last weekend at #1 at the Japanese Box Office! The movie premiered on 301 screens, attracting 333,133 viewers that earned the film an initial ¥378,422,200! It beat Real Steel, the boxing mecha movie starring Hugh Jackman which was tipped to be a hit in Japan. Big props to them.

And here’s a short “making-of” special, which features cast interviews and a few behind-the-scenes shot:

And next up, one lucky 4chan anon was able to sit in on the movie, and he posted a fairly long summary there, so we’ll just use a shorter one written by UkiyaSeed:

The movie kicks off with meteorites bombarding the planet. The Kamen Rider Club sees this and has no idea what is going on. In various parts of the world, teams from the Foundation X organization organize to start collecting mercury-like samples from the various meteors; but every time they do, a Showa Rider is there to stop them.
The Double Riders, Riderman, V3, X, Amazon, and Stronger show up in various parts of the world, though they only manage to stop them some of the time; Stronger’s target gets away, for example. Two notable rocks fall; one outside Fuuto, and one outside Eiji’s city, in the water.

The Kougami Foundation sends scientists to investigate, but as they do so, a massive black hole appears over the harbor, and a strange new Rider shows up; this is Kamen Rider Poseidon. He fights everyone, ignores bullets and as he’s walking away, Cakeboss, on a damaged TV screen, wishes him HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Gotou is summoned to Cakeboss’ office. He receives a briefing from Cakeboss; basically, he’s been designing more Core Medals, since all of OOO’s broke, and he’s… well, Cakeboss. Desire and all that. The thing is, the Rider that showed up has 3 of the medals Cakeboss was in the process of designing. They haven’t been finished yet. Weird.

Cut to Satonaka picking up Hina, and the two discussing the situation. Hina says that Eiji’s been traveling the world, looking for ways to fix Ankh I think was said; but before they can discuss further, they’re interrupted by a horde of Broken Yummys. Apparently that faggot from the black hole has been making them. Satonaka kicks a heck of it, stopping the car and going all Waif Fu on them. Thing is, even with her kickass kung fu, she can’t hold off the whole horde, and soon they start to menace Hina, surrounding her…
And then suddenly, Eiji appears out of nowhere, and he apparently learned Kung Fu from Terui, because he tears the heck out of these dudes. The BBEG decides now’s a good time to show up, Poseidon appearing with his spear and making explosions that make actors fly around.
Thankfully, suddenly, Date appears, on a motorcycle, jumping off to ram the Rider with it (It get slashed in half, btw). Satonaka tosses him Proto-Birth and, wouldn’t you guess it, Poseidon hands him his butt. Thankfully, Gotou to the rescue! Then Gotou AND Date get their butts kicked, and Proto Birth is actually destroyed utterly by a spear to the belt. It moves to go finish off Gotou…

And suddenly, Eiji backstabs it, shoving his right hand into the Poseidon’s back. It screams, and Eiji pulls out 3 Core Medals (TaToBa, of course), and says, “Now, Eiji!” But wait, isn’t that Eiji?! No, instead, on his hand… is Ankh!
Ankh!Eiji tosses the medals back, to… a real Eiji, who plants his stick+Tomorrow’s Undies into the earth, catches the medals, and transforms!
OOO and the Poseidon got to TOWN on each other, Ankh and Eiji swapping out combos of medals to harry and harass the guy. I believe Beetle+Tiger+Condor, Shark+Gorilla+Cheetah, and others are used, and Eiji uses all three medals in each set before Poseidon retreats.
Of course, Hina is very shocked. Eiji mentions that it’s kinda creepy for Ankh to look like him, Ankh shoots back that it FEELS creepy to look like Eiji, and changes back into the Ankh we all know and love.

Everyone returns to Cous Coussier, except for Date and Gotou who go to the Hospital. Apparently Eiji saw Ankh at a Japanese airport, and the two grouped up to head back. Eiji squeezes his pocket for a second, before Chiyoko gives Ankh some ice candy. Ankh acts like a faggot, they argue, and Hina interrupts the two and tells them to play nice. In this scene, Eiji also realizes he forgot Tomorrow’s Undies.
The slapstick is interrupted by… more half Yummies. Chiyoko evacuates the customers, while Eiji and Ankh smack the heck out of the Half yummies and smashes up Cous Coussier to do it.

They chase them out to find Poseidon outside. I neglected to mention the Evil Rider had a human form; he transforms from it into the Poseidon. Eiji notices something about his earlier fight, and decides to try what Hina did earlier to talk him down. Ankh calls him stupid, but tries to save Eiji anyways when he tries approaching Poseidon untransformed, peacefully. They both get their butts kicked, and Poseidon is about to kill Eiji when he stops, and regains control of himself, turning back into a human.
At a warehouse, Poseidon’s human form, Miharu explains. He’s from the future. In the future, Kougami 40 years from now gave him a Rider Belt to fight baddies, but while he was doing so, at some point, a wormhole opened from the past, and tons of Cell Medals and Core Medals were forced onto him, turning him into a Greeed.

He is referring, of course, to the wormhole in Episode 49 of OOO; those Cell Medals had to go someplace.
Ankh laughs at this kid for being a loser, Eiji slapsticks, Hina is about to Slapstick, but since her slapstick involves a heavy crate to Ankh’s head, Eiji stops her.
They camp out for the night, and as Ankh is sleeping, Miharu, re-possessed by the Medals in him, approaches Ankh to rob him. Ankh opens his eyes when he’s about to get attacked, and says, “Eiji, now.”
Eiji grapples him, and Hina turns him into OOO Sagohzo Combo. Ankh and Eiji have a plan; While Miharu is restrained, Ankh proceeds to start tearing Core Medals out of him. After the second batch, the Greeed growing inside Mizuno decides it’s had enough of it, and separates from Miharu, taking its special Medals and retreating.
The next morning, Eiji’s ready to head off, saying goodbye to Hina, who, as a parting present, gives him… a pair of underwear.
Emboldened, Eiji is about to leave, but Miharu asks, as a Rider to Rider; how is Eiji so strong? And Miharu, so weak, he can’t even imagine being as strong as Eiji is, ready to risk it all, etc etc. Eiji replies “Well, my grandfather said that the most important thing is that you have TOMORROW’S underwear.”
Amidst Miharu’s confusion, Eiji explains; it’s about preparing for tomorrow; working towards a tomorrow. A tomorrow where everyone has butts to wear underwear with, butts that haven’t been kicked by Evil’s nasty foot. Or some kind of nice analogy. Eiji gives Miharu Tomorrow’s Undies, and walks off with Ankh.

Ankh and Eiji encounter Poseidon at a harbor and talks about desire. OOO is out to stop Poseidon and starts fighting him. OOO Tajadol Combo fights Poseidon until he retreats into the water. Eiji is tossed with the OOO Shauta Medals and jumps after him. And yes, “Shout Out” begins to play.
The two do battle underwater for a bit, but Poseidon decides that the high ground on TOP of the water is better than trying to fight OOO Shauta in the water. Eiji is forced out by some attack, and this is when Satonaka, Date, and Gotou show up as backup. Satonaka fights an army of half-yummies, Date and Gotou attacks Poseidon with their jetskis. Date and Gotou get pawned, however.

However, another backup arrives; Miharu, with a change of heart! He transforms into Kamen Rider Aqua, on his own special jetski he uses to attack Poseidon, smashing it repeatedly and dancing circles around it.
Anyways, Poseidon is forced on land and was defeated by a Double Rider Kick made by Kamen Rider OOO Tajadol Combo and Kamen Rider Aqua! After Poseidon’s defeat, the group is relaxing, having won the day. Mizuno says goodbye to Hina and Eiji, and that he’ll do his best in the future, etc etc. Ankh smiles, and Miharu leaves.
When Hina turns around to talk to Eiji, however, Ankh is gone. Hina’s confused, then saddened; where did he go? Eiji shows Hina the broken Core Medals, and says that back in the Cafe, he knew; the Broken Hawk Core Medal that was Ankh’s was still broken. Ankh, it seems, had come from the Future, except willingly, to help Eiji.
Hina is almost VERY saddened, but then Eiji points out; this means that, in the end, Eiji succeeded in saving Ankh and bringing him back. After all, he’s there in the future, right? Together, they CAN and WILL save him, so there’s hope that their close frenemy will return.
This special, touching moment is interrupted by a surprise attack. As Eiji and Hina are struggling to pick themselves up from the explosion, the BBEG from the Foundation X approaches, laughs, picks up Poseidon’s Medals from the ground, gloats and leaves.

Meanwhile in Futo, Shotaro is chasing a Foundation X van and a truck, harassing them with his bike. He eventually pulls in front of them, forcing both to skid and stop. He gets off, telling them they drive dangerously. They get out, carrying some kind of case filled with that stuff they’ve been sampling from around the globe. Several of them turn into Masquerade Dopants, and two self-yummy, cranking out a couple of Yummies too.
Shotaro tells Philip it’s time to roll… but Philip is busy… looking up… something. On one hand, he’s prolly investigating Foundation X, but he says something about Aomori while smiling, so he could just be looking something stupid. Shotaro pulls up his Lost Driver and transformed into Kamen Rider Joker!

The case with the meteor stuff breaks, and pours down a sewer drain. Shotaro’s annoyed, and wonder where it went. Meanwhile, the Showa Riders find Foundation X’s hideout, and bust in, confronting the BBEG. The BBEG taunts them, then activates his own trap; electromagnets, screwing with all of the Showa Riders, trapping them.
Meanwhile in Amanogawa High, IT’S CULTURE FESTIVAL TIME! Kisaragi’s walkin’ around when he’s stopped by a very poorly disguised Ohsugi being a fortune teller. He predicts about a girlfriend in the future, which interestes Gen… but then he puts up pictures of himself and that one pretty teacher (Who never shows up in the movie). Gen calls him a wierd old man, they yell at each other, then Yuki shows up and tells Gen he’s mega late.

Mega late… for the Kamen Rider Club presentation! They’re raising awareness of Kamen Riders by wearing silly cardboard costumes of the Seven in the movie. They go through the presentation, getting laughed at, but have to stop midway because JK is missing. They find JK in a classroom who finds the presentation boring. The group quibbles a bit, but they hear something going on outside and go out.
A girl is scene falling from the sky! Gen runs out and catches her, and is suddenly enamored by how pretty she is. But she’s unconscious, so she goes to the Nurse’s room. Why is the Nurse’s room open on a Cultural Festival day? Who knows, Kengo’s prolly got Keys.

A peek at her wallet indicates her name is Nadeshiko Misaki. She wakes up, and again, Gentaro is striken by how friggin cute she is. Throughout the majority of the movie, she really only says what other people say, and is very quiet and observant. Keep that in mind.
Suddenly, Dustards appear! Cue another out-of-suit fight scene (These happen alot this movie), where Gentaro fights through the entire school, untransformed, as the KR Club chases students off. Gentaro eventually gets to an isolated location with his girlie, and transforms.

The girl is QUITE interested in this. After Gentaro smacks a few dudes around, she suddenly ALSO pulls out a belt; it looks much like Gen’s, except with only 2 slots; right and left arm. The switches are Rocket and Radar. She transforms as well, and fights alongside him. Very girly fighting, but very well done. Gen is also hypnotized by her brilliant skills.
The fight goes outside, and suddenly, a higher tier Zodiart appears! The higher tier Zodiart is the Virgo Zodiarts. Gentaro fights it, and gets whapped around. Elec is used but doesn’t stop it, even with a Limit Break. He uses Rocket at some point, and Nadeshiko thinks that’s a great idea, whipping out rocket as well.
The two proceed to Double Rocker Punch her. They stop, the club talks about the new girl and Gentaro’s sudden attraction to her (They talk from a bit away, Miu thinks it’s cute and snubs Shun when he tries to capitalize on the mood), but before they can decide what to do about it, Nadeshiko drags Gen off.

Gen takes Nadeshiko on a date. They go eating (She literally slurps up some meat buns), they go on a Ferris Wheel, and when she says she wants to go higher, he takes her to a building roof. She tries to shake his hand once or twice during this, but Gen, confused by his new feelings, shys away from it each time.
Since she wants to go higher still, he takes her to the Rabbit Hutch. Anyways, in the Rabbit Hutch, the two go into space. This time, they actually get a accidental hug, and they lean into kis- bonk. Lol spacesuits. Nadeshiko decides this is in the way for some reason, and removes her helmet. Gentaro goes “Oh, okay, sure,” and is about halfway through removing his helmet when he goes “waitasecond”
One analysis later, and Kengo confirms; Nadeshiko isn’t human, she’s some of that space muck, mimicking what it sees. Gen doesn’t want to hear about it, and it sucks even more when Nadeshiko repeats it (Cause she does that). He runs off to sulk.
Yuki and Nozoma go to cheer Gentaro up by a riverside. Rather, Yuki tries to, sitting down and talking to him, while Nozoma stands around being creepy i.e. herself. She tells him more or less to do what he feels is right, and he decides, after her cute little pep talk.
Meanwhile, Kengo is about to hand Nadeshiko, in a bottle, to Foundation X, when Gen shows up, Yuki and Nozoma following, and yoinks the bottle, talking about how she’s real to him, etc etc, even while Kengo’s trying to convince him out of it. Eventually, his love inspires Nadeshiko to hop out of the bottle and they handshake.

Foundation X, however, has had enough of it. They take Nadeshiko by force, shoving her in a van and kicking it out of everyone but Shun and Gentaro. Gen LEAPS ON THE VAN, forces his way inside, and gets into a fistfight inside of it, not stopping until a Foundation X baddy kicks him through the van doors, knocking the doors OFF the van in the process, and Gentaro onto the street.
Suddenly, Kengo shows up, on the Fourze bike! He says that even though she’s not human, he understands, go kick their butts. Gentaro thanks him, gets on that bike, and chases the Van down, forcing it off the road because he’s freakin’ Kamen Rider.
One of the Foundation X baddies had enough of this. He transforms into Sadonas. Gentaro and Shun tag team it, managing to free Nadeshiko, who transforms as well; Gentaro and Nadeshiko Double Rocket Rider Kick Sadonas!

The BBEG apparently has super sucking powers and pulls Nadeshiko into a chokehold, stabbing her with a needle that drains her into a bottle, all while she screams for Gentaro.
Gentaro is despairing now, even as the dragon comes back for round two and the BBEG makes his escape. The rest of the Kamen Rider Club does its best to fight off the Dragon; Yuki, Miu, and Nozoma toss the Foodroids, Shun attacks in the Power Dizer, and Kengo attacks wiht the bike, but it creams ALL of them. Even JK tries to help and gets stomped.
Gentaro is finally inspired by his friends, for one last stand. He rises, and, with EVERYONE counting down, transforms. Fire States, and he goes to TOWN on that dragon, eventually owning it with a limit break.
The group recuperates, Kengo finding a large Rocket switch on the ground; Number S-1, Super One dropped by Nadeshiko when she was captured. Before the group can catch their breath, however, suddenly, on a Ride Vendor, Eiji arrives. Gen’s eager to help him; after all, Kamen Riders help each other, right?
One last thing on Fourze: At some point during that half of the movie, I forget when exactly, the Chairman meets the BBEG. He’s selling switches, but the BBEG wants ASTRO switches, not ZODIART switches. There’s some threat swapping, and then the scene ends after one of the Chairmen’s Zodiarts appears.

Fourze, W, and OOO meet up in a parking lot. After introductions, and some Gentaro/Shotaro joking (Philip says they’re both ‘taros’, Shotaro gets pissed that it’s said they’re similar, Gentaro does his whole frendship thing, they stare off and eventually Shou goes “HAHA I LIKE YOU! YOU GOT SPUNK!”), Shotaro explains for the people who didn’t see Kamen Rider W what’s Foundation X’s deal. They agree to work together, since after all, they’re Riders, right? Then Foundation X arrives.
The four higher ups accompanying the BBEG transform into four Zodiarts that Gen’s beaten before (First four, specifically) and Shotaro and Philip transform to fight them. Gentaro and OOO follow suit in one of the most badass transformation scenes I’ve ever seen (Humorously, when Gentaro shouts 宇宙キターーーーーー!, Shoutarou is startled, asking Gen what’s wrong and Gen acts like everything is normal).

Shotaro promises to hold off the Foundation X members, (After all, he says back to Eiji, Riders help each other, right?), and Eiji and Fourze run off to stop the BBEG, Gentaro thanking “Senpai.” They also smash through two freakin’ Apache Choppers.
There’s a fight scene where W beats the SNOT out of the four Zodiarts, using CJ/HM/LT and a second half later where he uses Xtreme. W-B-X plays in the background. Glorious.
Fourze and OOO reach the BBEG, who is getting on a giant freakin’ space plane. The BBEG regards them with annoyance and sics the mooks on them. They proceed to get dogpiled by 50+ mooks from the three shows.

OOO and Fourze proceed to Dynasty warriors the heck out of theme. Every OOO Combo is used, every Fourze switch is used. And I mean EVERY fourze switch. Everything except for I think Smoke, Flash and Parachute.
You haven’t seen awesome til Gen kicks a dude with Gatling’s leg, then shoots other dudes with the leg while it’s planted in the first bad guy’s chest. Or uses Magic Hand and Hopping to clear entire waves. Or until Tatoba Kick nukes an entire horde of minions.
OOO manages to catch a break, and Aqua returns, giving Gentaro three medals; TaToBa, with golden inlays, however. They’re from the future. Meanwhile, Gentaro finds three medals and 4 switches; one for each rider that was captured.

As OOO and Fourze reunite, a line up of bad guys appear; Terror, Smilodon, Clay Doll, Red Nasca, the Four Greeeds appear. Thankfully, Fourze comes with switches and medals. He gives the medals to OOO, and they both use them with a Scanning Charge/Limit Break. This in turn CREATES the riders; they were sealed in the Switches/Medals!
The Showa Riders thank the two, and say they’ll stay to hold off these punks while Eiji and Gen go after the BBEGs. A few thanks later and Fourze is Rocket+Drill LIMIT BREAKing after the rocket ship, OOO screaming in terror and holding onto Fourze’s hand for dear life.

They smash their way in, where the BBEG reveals his weapon; a belt, with 3 slots for the future medals, and a switch slot for… Nadeshiko. Gen, understandably, is pissed, and the two riders do battle with the BBEG, who STOMPS them.
The BBEG opens a side door, throwing Fourze out, and starts kicking the crap out of OOO. Cut to Fourze, about to fall to his death, when Shun saves him, catching him in the Power Dizer and swinging him about until the momentum dies. Using the Power Dizer, Shun launches Gentaro back after the spaceplane, which is beginning to leave the atmosphere.

Back inside the ship, OOO has had enough of this. Eiji uses the future medals, transforming into OOO Super Tatoba Combo! It’s actually much cooler in motion, and Eiji tears the hell out of the BBEG with it. “What is that?!” “The medals of the future!”
Fourze manages to claw his way back onto the ship, him and OOO giving each other one last peptalk on a fin before the two make their way to the top of the space plane. By now, it’s left the atmosphere. Fourze changes to SUPER ROCKET, and the final battle begins.

At some point, the Showa Riders and Aqua all get Rider Kicks (Or a Big Slice). They’re actually really cool, they modernized the effects really well while keeping them oldschoolcool.
There’s a fight, Fourze getting blasted by UNLIMITED COSMIC ENERGY… but the blast that should blow his stuff back into the atmosphere instead is stopped, Nadeshiko’s returning feelings to Gen saving him from damage. Gentaro drops a spinning rocket attack into the BBEG, smashing his sword apart.

With a last LIMIT BREAK and SCANNING CHARGE, the two unleash their final attacks, Eiji’s SEIYA and Gen’s battle cry resounding above the earth, their kicks blowing the heck out of the stunned BBEG. The ship begins to fall to earth, and the credits start to roll; but there’s still threads to wrap up.
Gentaro and Nadeshiko talk, in that psuedo-newtype space kinda thing. Nadeshiko’s grateful and very happy that she met Gen, thank you, etc etc. Gen moves to give her a hug or a handshake I forget, but then the screen pans down as she leans in way too close for a handshake.
In reality, Gentaro and Eiji fall, popping Tajadol and Parachute as they return to earth. Scene cuts go to Gotou and Date and Chiyoko at Cous. Chiyoko takes her ruined shop rather well; it’s always a new beginning, for her, and she quickly rounds the two men up into fixing the place up for the new theme.

Eiji and Hina reminisce. Their earlier conversation is somewhat repeated; they can, they will, save Ankh. It’s already been proven, and their future is protected by a fellow Kamen Rider. A happy ending, and they’ll continue to work for a future they both want, with their friend, Ankh.
Goddamn, how hard was it for me to write that with a straight face? But Ankh really is a bro, I guess; who the hell would go through a wormhole just to help you out, you know? Regardless, Eiji and Hina end the movie happy.
Gentaro is at a train station with the rest of the Kamen Rider Club when he sees a girl that looks JUST like Nadeshiko. I guess that makes sense; she musta copied her. He can’t help but watch her while she walks right by him; and ignores him.
For a moment, Gentaro simply looks down, overwhelmed in his own, quiet little way. And then he sees the whole Kamen Rider Club, as a group, do his double-chest-bump and point motion, to him, smiling… and he smiles back, returning the gesture.

I guess having your heart broken is as much a part of the Spirit of Youth as throwing crap in the river, huh, Gentaro? And thus the movie ends. Oh, there’s a little snippet of Meteor, and him doing some stuff… that is fighting some Foundation X members!
His alternate powers seem to be planet based, and on his wrist. He had a switch on his wrist he used to cover his hand with freakin’ SATURN. Like, a saturn replica with razor rings. Don’t know what they do, but it looked pretty cool. He untransformed and said some confrontational stuff about Fourze/the KRC.

Believe it or not, this is shorter than the original. And remeber, not my summary, someone else’s language here.

Anyway, it is appropriate that this massive spoiler ends with Meteor, because we have some news on him as well. It turns out that the “mysterious transfer student” in the movie IS Kamen Rider Meteor, and he is played by Yoshizawa Ryo, this guy:

Yay, we were right the first time!

According to new roles, Yosizawa will play Ryuusei (Japanese for Meteor), a transfer student to Amanogawa High, who will make his debut in Ep.17, which should be the first episode of the new year!

Anyway, that should be it for MEGAMAX news for now. If anything else pops up, I’ll be sure to let you know!

SEEYA! UCHU KITAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Kamen Rider Fourze and Movie Wars MEGAMAX Mega-Post

Hey, a lot of stuff came out last week about Fourze that I just wasn’t able to cover, so now I’m going to try and go over as much of it as I can now. Let’s see what we can cover!

First, a bunch of scans:

New AstroSwitches: #21 Stealh, #22 Hammer, #23 Water (a faucet), #24 Medical (first aid kit), and #25 Pen (a writing brush).

And as far as show news goes from all of this, it looks lik we’ll see the Magnet State soon, and we might see Kamen Rider Meteor appear soon as well. And with them, come new Zodiart enemies.

And as for movie news, I think this newest plot summary could cover it:

Part 1: Beginning A meteor falls down.

The 7 Riders try and prevent Foundation X from taking SOLU. Kannagi manages to get the SOLU.

Part 2: Kamen Rider OOO

40 years into the future, Kamen Rider Poseidon declares he’s  going to become a Kamen Rider Hunter. Miharu received a new belt and  Core Medals from Kougami, found the Core Medals that disappeared at the  final episode, absorbs them and goes crazy, taking the name Poseidon. He  travels back in time through a time drift. Miharu received the Poseidon Driver because he felt he was weak and was afraid of water. Kougami  believed this belt would help him.

Kougami tells the Double Birth to fight him off, they lose. The  Prototype Driver is broken permanently. Then tells Eiji to come back to  Japan, as he’s traveling around the world trying to find the Core  Medals. At the airport, Eiji meets Ankh. They head over to Cous Cousier, Chiyoko welcomes them. Waste Yummies shows up.

Miharu and Poseidon splits apart into two different beings. Seems like  Miharu had some sort of parasitic bond with the Core Medals. Not really  explained why they split, Poseidon rampages even more. Miharu transforms  into Aqua. Eiji gives Miharu a pair of tomorrow’s underwear.

Ankh, takes the form of Eiji, as a strategy. Ankh doesn’t possess Eiji.  Together they manage to grab some Medals and Eiji goes Shauta. Aqua and Tajadoru finishes Poseidon off. Miharu returns to the future, Ankh disappears without anyone knowing. Foundation X shows up and attacks Team OOO. Grabs Poseidon’s Medals and leaves.

Part 3: Fuuto – The Secret Plot Advances

Shotaro chases after Foundation X (Supposedly a request from Eiji). Foundation X are transporting the SOLU somewhere else. While Phillip is busy researching, Shotaro transforms into Joker. As they fight, the SOLU leaks out from a capsule.

The Legendary Seven Riders are at some airport, fighting Kannagi. Kannagi overpowers them and turns them into Switches and Medals.

Part 4: Kamen Rider Fourze

Nadeshiko falls down from the sky, Gentaro catches her and falls in love.

Foundation X team up with the Zodiarts, Fourze heads out to fight. Kamen Rider Nadeshiko shows up. Sadondas shows up to retrieve Nadeshiko, Nadeshiko turns into the SOLU  Switch. Gentaro starts crying and screaming. Kamen Rider Club+Power  Dizer shows up to fight.

At the very end of part four, Eiji appears and asks for Gentaro’s help.

Part 5: Movie Wars MEGAMAX

A bunch of monsters are standing in front of Shotaro, Phillip, Eiji and Gentaro as they transform together. The three of them chase after Kannagi, they arrive at a warehouse and save the seven Riders. Fight against old monsters ensues. Special attacks are executed in a row, one after another.

Kannagi becomes Super Galaxy King by using Poseidon’s Medals and the SOLU Switch. Fourze takes Nadeshiko’s Rocket Switch and goes into Rocket States. Miharu shows up and gives Eiji the Super Core Medals. The jingle is “Super  Taka! Super Tora! Super Batta! Ta-to-ba, tatobatatoba, SU-PER!”

They fight Super Galaxy King as the medley plays. Report ends here, nothing about the conclusion was included.

Well, that didn’t quite cover all of it. We now know who the newest Foundation X members are:

The members of Foundation X who will appear in the movie are: Rem Kannagi (played by Toru Masuoka), Katal (played by Dante Carver), Solaris (played by Sanae Hitomi) and Chancellor Kiima (played by Azusa Watanabe).

Katal and Solaris are Rem’s subordinates while Chancellor Kiima is his boss. Based on the scan posted above, Katal will transform into Sadondas. It is also to note that Sanae Hitomi previously played Shion, one of the psychic soldiers of W RETURNS: Kamen Rider Eternal and is Kamen Rider Nadeshiko’s suit actress in the film.

Lastly, Azusa Watanabe is best known for role as Miyuki Ozu aka MagiMother from Mahou Sentai Magiranger.

And lastly, we now know the title of the theme song for the MEGAMAX movie:

The song is called “SAMURAI STRONG STYLE”, sung by Show Ayanocozey of Kishidan, a.k.a. DJ OZMA, and arranged by Marty Friedman. The single is slated for release December 21st. Interesting to note that the song, according to reports, is another effort to cheer up the people of Japan after the quake. “SAMURAI” stands for the Japanese people, and “STRONG STYLE” represents their fighting spirit.

And that should officially be everything now. You’re all caught up. Yay.

Clash of the Red Rangers Review

Okay, so the new Power Rangers Samurai TV movie “Clash of the Red Rangers” debuted just a couple of hours ago (when I started writing this post), and so far, I’m not sure what to make of it.

On first watch, they seem to be pulling from three different sources to make this special. First, and most obvious, was Shinkenger vs. Go-Onger, only with just RPM Ranger Red making an appearance, and then mixed in with that was the Shinkenger movie, mostly using a re-shot version of the major battle scene and the battle against the now-named General Gut, and what should have been the reveal of the Shark zord/Shark Attack Ranger (Kyoryu Origami/Hyper Shinkenger) but was instead revealed in the Double Red Ranger fight scene, and a random episode which was originally where Kotoha/ShinkenYellow first used the Super Shinkenger power (it was the scene where the Samurai Rangers first come in).

Basic plot summary: The RPM Rangers are still fighting the robot hordes (a.k.a. Venjix) that nearly destroyed humanity, when one bad guy named Professor Cog escapes from his dimension into the Samurai Ranger’s dimension, with RPM Ranger Red on his tail. After seeing the new Samurai Rangers in action, he makes a deal with Master Xandred to eliminate the Rangers in exchange for Sanzu River water, which he plans on using to poison the water supply in the RPM dimension. When he sends out his Grinders to take out the Samurai Rangers, that’s when RPM Ranger Red shows up. He tells the Samurai Rangers that his name is Scott, and that he came from his dimension to stop Professor Cog while he’s in the Samurai Ranger’s dimension. After a fight with the Professor and his Grinder minions, the team is transported by Cog to the RPM dimension, leaving the two Reds who’ve been poisoned by Cog’s hypno-bolts. Both sides regroup, where we see Xandred and General Gut talking about a Mooger army build-up they’ve been planning since before Professor Cog showed up. The next day, with Jayden and Scott growing more and more hostile towards each other, they set off to fight a combined Mooger/Grinder horde, only to start fighting each other. Their fight ends with a fake-out, using the same trick Professor Cog had pulled in Scott in his dimension, and together they wipe out the Moogers and the Grinders using the Samurai’s yet-to-be-revealed Shark Attack and Super Modes. That’s when the others finally return and help them take out Professor Cog and a Nighlock ordered to assist him. After that, they charge into a battle with General Gut and a swarm of Moogers, with RPM Ranger Red and Samurai Gold Ranger fighting from a Red Convertible (it was a Mustang, but they can’t use brand names on Power Rangers for legal reasons). They take out General Gut with Jayden going into Shark Attack Mode, and then finish him off using the new Shark Zord. After which, the Samurai Rangers see Scott off to his dimension, while hinting at a possible upcoming romance between Mike and Emily. 😉

My review: Let me start out by saying that I had started on this post yesterday, shortly after it had premiered, and my impression of it has since changed. If I had published the review I was working on yesterday, then all you would have read was a scathing, nit-picky, dare I say fanboy-esque review, in which I just constantly pointed out every little flaw and complained about every little incongruency with the story, and you all would have probably called me out for it. But since then, I’ve had a chance to see the special again, and rethink my position on certain things, and if I’m honest, it wasn’t half bad considering all the things they had working against them.

For example, we all would have like to seen Eka Darville in person, at least for a one scene, but he couldn’t be there, so we’ll just have to make due with his voice over. One thing I really don’t get though, if they did that just for him, then why not just replace everyone else that couldn’t show with suit actors and give them some kind of voice double, like the very obvious one they had for Steven Skyler/Antonio. They’ve had Ari Boyland on there voicing a Nighlock, I’m sure he could have come in to voice his parts. And I know they needed to fill time by replacing the missing scenes in the movie (Megazord battle with Professor Cog on the Moon, the Goseiger fight scene, etc.), but why use the Shinkenger movie scenes? That just threw off the whole plot line of the movie. Sure, you needed a way to formally introduce the Shark Zord, but why didn’t they just do it in another special? And I’m just ranting again.

Overall, I’d say this was a good special, given the special conditions. Would I say it was the best Samurai has had to offer so far? No. But I do think that the best is waiting just around the corner. After all, there are a lot of big things waiting for us in season two.

Still wish they could have done more with this one. Maybe next time, with whichever two series they decide to make a crossover for, they’ll be able to get a hold of the actors from the previous season before they go off and get new acting jobs.

Hey look! More old news! A new movie poster for the upcoming movie Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO Movie Wars MEGAMAX is out, and we have a new plot summary for the movie as well. So let’s get to it.

First off, here’s the new poster:

This time, all of the Riders that appear in the movie are featured, including W, Nadeshiko, Aqua, and the Legendary Seven.

And now we move onto the new plot summary, this one coming from the OCN Animation Blog. It verifies that the movie will be divided into five parts, with OOO, Fourze, and even W getting their own chapters. Here’s the new story:

Chapter 1: Beginning
Meteorites fell from space all over the world. Stuck to those meteorites is a mysterious substance called SOLU. These 7 Riders get into a fierce competition with Foundation X over it. However, the SOLU fell into Foundation X’s hands. The dreadful project they’re advancing is…?

Chapter 2: Kamen Rider OOO
From a distortion in time caused by the meteorites, the present world has become connected with the world 40 years into our future. Kamen Rider Poseidon comes from the future carrying the future’s Core Medals. Since Poseidon likes to fight more than anything else, he aims to defeat our present Riders OOO and Birth. He targets Eiji Hino (OOO), who has recently come home from his journey. But when that happens–who appears but Ankh, who disappeared during the previous battles.

Chapter 3: Futo – The Secret Plot Advances
Shotaro Hidari encounters Foundation X in Futo and begins to investigate their plans. On the other hand, the 7 Riders find the location of Foundation X’s secret airport and corner its leader, Remu Kannagi. However, Foundation X laid a trap the Riders couldn’t predict. The 7 Riders are in danger! And Foundation X’s plot is coming closer and closer to fruition…!

Chapter 4: Kamen Rider Fourze
Amanogawa High School is full of people for the Culture Festival. Then suddenly, a cute girl fell from the sky. Gentaro Kisaragi falls in love with that girl, Nadeshiko Misaki, but for some reason the Zodiarts are after her. To protect her, he transforms into Kamen Rider Fourze, but she surprisingly transforms into Kamen Rider Nadeshiko. Exactly what is her true identity? In truth, Nadeshiko is one link in this big chain of events, and has a big secret.

Chapter 5: Movie Wars MEGAMAX
Fourze, OOO and Double were chasing the same enemy. When the full scope of the enemy’s plans comes to light, the Riders join forces to protect world peace. However, before the Riders appears a large army of Zodiarts, Greeed and Dopants. Fourze and the other Riders are attacked by this army and end up in trouble. Is there a chance to turn the tables? Fight, our heroes! Gather here, legendary warriors!

Whoa, looks like it’s gonna be another big rumble! Do our heroes have what it takes to stop Foundation X in it’s tracks?! We’ll just have to find out when the movie debuts in December (or when the movie comes out on Blu-Ray/DVD release six months later).
