Power Rangers Ultrapost: Samurai are Super!

Hey, there’s been a lot of Power Ranger news that’s come out over the last month, and for some reason I keep missing it! So, I’m just going to take some of the biggest headlines from the past month or so and thow them all into one Gigantor post! And coming up first we have this new poster for the the new season of PRS, Power Rangers Super Samurai!:

Yep, next season, the “Super” mode will be officially incorporated into the series, including this new Super Mega Mode. And if I’m not mistaken, I can see a new enemy in the corner. No info yet on when the next season will start.

And this poster actually came from the Power Morphicon Facebook page, who also announced the official date for Power Morphicon 2012! This year, it will take place from August 17th-19th 2012 at the Pasadena Convention Center (same location as the last), and Registration is open for anyone interested.

Speaking of Pasadena, anyone who saw this year’s Tournament of Roses Parade (and not on ABC) might have caught a glimpse of the Power Rangers Samurai Video Game float. If not, you can check out this video from the HGTV coverage of the parade:

And here’s a nice gallery of pics:

And here’s a couple of behind-the-scenes videos, one of which includes Andre from BlackNerdComedy:

Now this next part, I don’t have a decent segway for, but it was still awesome.

Yep, this happened, for 48 hours on Nicktoons back on the 6th (January 2012), and I’m assuming it was awesome since I couldn’t watch it because we had downgrade our cable package literally the week of. My life sucks sometimes…

BTW they have been playing that on there regularly as well, so go check it out if you can! Because I can’t. 😦

Now let’s move onto some newer news thst came out while I was working on this ultra-post!

Mainly, Kimberly Crossman has been 100% CONFIRMED to play a future Red Ranger Role! YAY!! This confirmation via a recent video post on Carlos Pena’s YouTube Channel (Carlos Pena from Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush) where she comes on and outright says it, though she does keep us in the dark about the details. You can check out the whole video below (though I can’t guarantee you’ll be that impressed):

So yeah, there’s that. And then there’s this:

Yep, this is the cover of the latest issue of Hyper Hobby Magazine, which your going to see a lot of as I do more of these ultra-posts, and the portion of it that I want to cover here is this: while full translations of this are STILL not available, we can confirm that Toei did discuss the 20th Anniversary of Power Rangers, and those discussions included possibly re-shooting the Legend War scene from the opening of Go-Kaiger with teams from MMPR onward. Whether the 20th season of Power Rangers will be the Go-Kaiger adaption is anyone’s guess. But that’s still big news, though I wouldn’t expect any adaptions of the movies to be quite as spectacular as the Go-Kaiger movies have been so far.

And that should be about everything, barring nothing comes out in the next five minutes. If anything else pops up, I make no guarantees, but I’ll try to let you know.

Super Sentai 199 Heroes Subbed: Just Amazing, Simply Fantastic. Well Done, Toei, Well Done.

Power Rangers Online Gameplay Video: 3 Enemies, 3 Rangers, and 10 minutes of awesome.

Mahou!

As you may have known, Korean game developer NtreeV has been working with Toei to create a new Power Rangers/Super Sentai MMORPG simply entitled Power Rangers Online. The game, which is based off of Power Rangers Magic Force (the Korean title for the dubbed Magiranger series), is currently within beta testing, which is where this new gameplay video comes from. Speaking of which, you can check out that video below:

Players will be able to access special costumes, combat skills, combination skills, and have a chance to fight monsters from the series!

Currently the game is in closed beta testing (aww, man) with only MagiRed, MagiYellow, and MagiPink available as playable characters. The game will be released later this year.

P.S., I’ve already seen some very mean-spirited comments no the original YouTube video, and would just like to say this: THE GAME IS STILL IN BETA TESTING. Before anyone complains about the quality of the video, just remember that the game is still in development, and will most likely improve alot by the time the game is officially released. So no mean/offensive comments here!

Ninja Captor, The Lost Super Sentai?

Ninja Captor, The Lost Super Sentai?.

Pretty interesting read from Orends: Range. Could this series above, Ninja Captor, be counted as a Super Sentai series? Read the article above to find out more about Ninja Captor and why we’re asking.

Power Rangers Magic Force MMORPG planned for South Korea: Who wants to be first in line for beta testing? :O

Sorry for the two-day delay, the real world sucks sometimes. Anyway, onto business!

Toei has partnered with the South Korean game company Ntreev Soft to produce a new MMO based on the Super Sentai series called Power Rangers Online, which the plan on unveiling by the end of this year.

The game will be based primarily on Mahou Sentai Magiranger, which aired in South Korea in 2006 as Power Rangers Magic Force as Korean dub of the original series (it should be noted that they’ve been airing Super Sentai in Korea under the Power Rangers title since Abaranger aired as Power Ranger Dino Thunder in 2003). It’s expected to be a side-scrolling action RPG, with players having the chance to create special costumes, learn unique combats skills, and fight monsters from the series! The teaser site for the game is already up (click here), and it’s announced plans to launch closed beta testing within the year.

The game is being co-developed by Ntreev, Daewon Media, and Ironnos.

Ntreev has indicated that the series has been well recieved by gamers, and they expect the game to be popular across all audiences. My only question is, why hasn’t this happened yet?! 😉

No info yet on what it could be about, but speculation is abound.

General reaction to this news has basically been: “Is it seriously already time for this already?!” I think Toei may have accidently blocked themselves in this time. Because of Go-Kaiger‘s overwhelming popularity, no one wants to even think about the show being over yet. Even though we’re almost 30 episodes in, it still feels new and fresh. It’s almost impossible to believe that the show’s been going since February, and that it’s almost the end of August. But this definitely isn’t a rumor at this point, it’s about the right time of year for this to happen (we heard the first rumors about Go-Kaiger about this time last year), and we have a copy of the copyright application (which you would have seen by now if you’ve read this far), so this is what’s up next.

This will probably be the first time in a very long time that people HAVEN’T been excited to hear about the next series in the line.

UPDATE: (8/25/11) Apparently dukemon22, who first reported on the copyright for Baruganger, hasn’t found the copyright for the name listed with the new batch of copyrights that popped up. No one’s sure what that means yet, but I’ll be sure to keep you informed of any new developments. Don’t ask me about the copyright claim above, it came from a Chinese toku-fan site, it looked convincing enough, but if it’s fake, then someone’s gone to a lot of trouble to fake it.

Toei Official YouTube Channel: Finally, legal Tokusatsu on YouTube! :P

Well, look whose finally catching up. Toei now has it’s own official YouTube channel, where they’ve been uploading random videos from all of your favorite tokusatsu tv shows, from Kamen Rider to Super Sentai to Metal Heroes, and thensome! And since they’re the ones uploading this content, it’s all “legal”, so no chance of them being removed anytime soon.

So far, this service is really only being aimed towards their Japanese audience, so every video is just in Japanese RAW, but at least ou can see them. The account has also been uploading Super Sentai and Kamen Rider movies, as well as Kamen Rider Net Movies, but so far those videos have only been available in Japan. So anyone outside of Japan is going to have to rely on other people uploading these videos onto YouTube. It sucks, I know, but at least you can watch episodes of other toku shows that never really made it onto YouTube before.

Here’s the link to their official YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/TOEIcojp

It’s not certain how long this will last, so go ahead and check this out now. Hopefully, they’ll expand this once they realize how many people outside of Japan are interested.

Toei’s Two-Fist Knockout!: Go-Kaiger and OOO movies at top of Box Office!

As expected, the dynamic movie duo of Go-Kaiger and OOO reached the top spot of the Japanese Box Office over the weekend, beating out both Harry Potter and Transformers! (Wait, Transformers is still in theaters?) 😛

Yes, the double-billed movies, Kaizoku Sentai Go-Kaiger THE MOVIE: The Flying Ghost Ship and Kamen Rider OOO THE MOVIE: WONDERFUL, Shogun, and 21 Core Medals, came out at No.1 over the weekend, beating the final installment of Harry Potter, the most recent Transformers movie, and even Cars 2 (although given it’s surprisingly low reviews, that’s not all too surprising. Yes, it’s a paradoxical statement, deal with it!)

And with the new number one crowned, here’s the current top ten movies in Japanese theaters: Go-Kaiger & OOO (#1, 1st week), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (#2, 4th week), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (#3, 2nd week), Cars 2 (#4, 2nd week), Pokemon Best Wishes (#5, 4th week), Kukoriko-saka Kara (#6, 4th week), Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouen Mae Hashutsujo The Movie (#7, 1st week), Naruto: Blood Prison (#8, 2nd week), Nintama Rintaro (#9, 3rd week), and Rock Wanko no Shima (#10, 3rd week).

Congratulations to Toei on another overwhelming success from these two franchises!

-M.C., the Quantum Twin

P.S.: To my international followers, the Transformers movie came out on June 29th in the U.S., and there have been so many movies released since then, that it’s been overrun by competition. It’s still at theaters in the U.S., but I doubt it will be there for too much longer, given current trends in turn-around times for a newly released movie’s popularity.

Kamen Rider Fourze Astro Switches Revealed: They remind me of somebody else…

Some new pics from Fourze have been leaked, this time showing the other Astro Switches in use. Take a look:

Okay, so as revealed before, the four primary Switches unlock the Rocket (Right Arm), the Launcher (a rocket launcher on his right leg), a Drill (left leg), and a Radar (left arm), though no one has specified what the radar is actually for. We also have a couple of space kaijin that he will be dealing with, probably in the first couple of episodes. They look a bit more like monsters you’d see in a sentai series to me, but that’s just my opinion. I do like their designs, they’re very cool, I’m just saying, I would expect Go-Kaiger to go up against them. And it also looks like Fourze is getting more than just the four Switches, because I’m pretty sure that the Switch in the sixth pic (second row, pic on the right) has the number 6 on it. I wonder what that could be? Then again, what’s he putting it in?

Also, the Switches apparently have a metallic voice that reads off it’s number, and it’s followed by some little melody. So, were basically going with the same trend we’ve been seeing in Kamen Rider since Den-O. Shocker!

Go-Kaiger Goseiger Movie Spoiler: Super Sentai Hero Getter ~199 ver.

***********************************200 POST!!!*********************************

Wanted to share this with everyone, it’s the 199 Heroes Battle version of Super Hero Getter, the ending theme to Kaizoku Sentai Go-Kaiger. Take a look:

The video itself was just a compilation made by the person who uploaded it. No idea what the actual credits look like. But maybe it will hold you over until the movie comes out on Blu-Ray.

And for those of you wondering, the only real difference between this and the main version of the song is that the in-between verses are gone (the verses between them listing the various sentais). You’ll understand when you hear it.
