The new series revolves around the story of 13-year-old Yuma Tukumo, an amateur duelist, and Astral, a mysterious life form from a parallel world that suddenly appears before Yuma. The series originally debutted in Japan back in April, with the manga launching back in February.
Here’s the new teaser promo that 4Kids has posted:
4Kids has been in recent legal battles with the series licensers, ADK and TV Tokyo, which nearly led to the two licencing companies to cut ties with 4Kids and sell licenses to new distributors. To sum up the events to this point, 4Kids filed legal actions against the two companies to keep them from selling to someone else, until their own separate legal troubles were resolved (for a more complete story, click here).
Well then, I guess this news begs the question: how do you feel about Zexal making it’s way into the world? Are you excited by this? Could you care less? And how do you feel about 4Kids handling it? Are you happy about it, or would you prefer another company dealing with fewer legal troubles to distribute it? I’ll admit, I haven’t really followed the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise in a while, I might just have to see if this series is worth it’s muster.
