New SOPA/PIPA Update: Ding Dong the Witch is Dead!

Well, because of the protest from the other day (and in spite of the vicious¬†shutdown of Megaupload), the US Congress has delayed test voting on the proposed SOPA/PIPA Bills, and it doesn’t look like any version of the bills will come up for a vote anytime soon. So for the most part, the protests were successful! Either that or this pic scared the crap out of SOPA and PIPA:

Geez, Winspector Fire. JK. Thanks to everyone that supported the protest. Now I feel safe posting news again. ūüėÄ If only I could make myself post anything that could be considered news. ūüėõ

(Don’t worry, I’m not interested in posting political news anymore, sticking with straight toku news from now on.)

henshinhead Blacking Out: Protesting SOPA tomorrow.

Hey guys. I’m sure most of my American readers know about SOPA and the Protect-IP laws that have been floating around Congress for some time now. While we of the internet have managed to fight off versions of the bill so far, but they’re still considering keeping portions of the bill, mainly the portions that people have been protesting. So, because I consider this to be an important issue, this blog, along with Wikipedia and other protesting websites, will be going black for 12 hours tomorrow (8a.m.-8p.m. EST¬†January 18th), as part of the largest internet protest to date (also one of the few internet¬†protests to date). Normal operations will be restored shortly after that. Just letting you know now, so as to avoid confusion tomorrow. Apologies to anyone this inconveniences, and thanks to anyone who supports this protest.

Clash of the Red Rangers Update: Super and Hyper suits used!

It’s official now! They will be using the Super and Hyper Shinkenger jackets in the new Power Rangers Samurai¬†special, “Clash of the Red Rangers”, which debuts Saturday, November 26th at 12n/11c on Nick!

So how the heck to they plan on explaining what it’s suppose to be?

Also, it looks like their might be an all-day Power Rangers Samurai marathon on Nicktoons on Wednesday the 23rd from noon to 9p.m. No confirmation on this yet, but it’s listed tv listing on Funaroboard (the ones who found out that the crossover¬†special would air on the 26th), so theirs a good chance that it’s true.

UPDATE: (11/23/11) There is a marathon running on Nicktoons, right now in fact. And it’s apparently going to run until 9:30 pm EST. So go check that out now!

Climax Heroes Fourze Update: Tag-Team Supreme!

Following the Tokyo Game Show 2011 last week, Namco Bandai posted comments on their new tag-team system on their official blog for the Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze. Here are three of those features mentioned in said blog:

  • You can swap characters freely without consuming Gauge.
  • You can call your assist to do combined attacks. For example, if you choose Faiz Blaster and Hyper Kabuto both of them can do a powerful missile attack. This consumes Rider Gauge.
  • When it’s two-on-two on screen, you can swap between characters letting the CPU control the other one.

The game comes out this winter for the PSP and Nintendo Wii for 5981 yen.

Fourze Update: Kamen Rider Club taking a new direction and Fourze has MORE States?

A lot of the rumors that came out about this show have turned out to be true, even initial rumors about an astronaut theme and Fourze being a high school student. Well, it seems now that one proven rumor about the Kamen Rider Club started at Amanogawa High have taken a different direction than they did in the original rumors.

The Kamen Rider Club will still be in the show, but the story behind it will be completely different from what’s been reported up until now. The original rumors said that the club was started to investigate the “Kamen Rider urban legend”, but that’s not where the story is going to go anymore. Check out the article below:

Translated:

Producer Hideaki Tsukuda says that some higher up from Toei told him to nix the idea. The reasoning they gave him was because Decade, a recent series, already did that and they didn’t want to retread familiar grounds too soon.

There was also a lot of complaining among the fanbase that might have lead to it. The producer seemed pretty bummed out about it, he’s the one that tried to visually link Double to the original Kamen Rider and really loves close ties in series.

Okay, maybe not a perfect translation, but you get the picture. So, now the KRC will have a new purpose all together. What do you think it will be about now?

Moving on, a new toy catalogue scan has popped up for Fourze toys, and it features six figure heads (actual, not political):

The main one is¬† obviously Fourze in Base State, the next two heads are from the Elek and Fire States, and the final head is from Kamen Rider OOO PuToTyra. So what are the two blacked-out heads supposed to be?! Are these new, yet-to-be-announced States for Fourze? There’s not a lot that can be gathered from this page, but it seems likely they would throw in new States at this point, especially since the show just started. ūüėõ Any ideas on what these two new States could be?

That’s it for Fourze news at the moment, if anything else pops up, I’ll let you know.

UPDATE: You that article about the KRC? Yeah, apparently, that isn’t a translation quoted below, that was just a rumor from the person that originally brought up the article. Here’s the real translation:

It states that the Kamen Rider Club is aware and trying to defend against the Zodiarts, and the series will still retain the purpose of being the 40th anniversary series with Riders from the past history. It does bring up Decade being the Heisei 10th anniversary series, and them wanting to do a series to commemorate Kamen Rider’s 40th anniversary.

It also states the club is Fourze’s “backup” with Fourze doing most of the fighting. It also states that Gentaro is the only one who will use the Fourze Driver.

So, the club will pay homage¬†to past Riders, but for the most part, they’ll just be back-up for¬†Gentaro, who will be the only Fourze (sorry, Kengo, maybe you’ll be the second Rider).¬†So what do you think now that you know what the article was really about?

henshinhead End of August/Beginning of September Update: Fourze’s not the only one with classes to attend this fall.

Hey everyone! It’s the start of a new month, that means it time for my monthly blog report. Admittedly I didn’t do one for July/August, mostly because of the at-times overwhelming amount of neews that’s out there, and I got swept up in everything Fourze (btw, Fourze premieres today in Japan, less than an hour away when I started this post). So this time, I’m making sure to put in some of my own stuff this month, even if it’s just this post. I’ll try to make more of my own stuff, but like the title says, I’ve already started fall classes, and I will be a full time student this semester, which unfortunately means that I will have a lot less time to work¬†on the blog. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have special plans for the blog, just keep¬†coming back to find out what those plans are.

Speaking of which, I would just like to say thank you to everyone that’s visited the site over the last month. There certainly has been a lot of you, especially last week. Well over 5500 people visited the site last week, with two days where over 950 people showed up. Over the whole of last month, there were 19,744 visits to the blog (nearly 5000 more than July), and I certainly don’t see those numbers slowing down too much anytime soon. Admittedly the weekly numbers dropped a bit, but that’s stsrting to go back up. The daily average, however, was definitely up from July, putting last month’s average at 637 people a day. And for all of that, I would just like to say, domo arrigato gozaimasu! That’s thank you very much x1000. And I honestly mean that, even if I don’t include some cheesy fan-art thank you pic in this post. Those can be so hard to find. ūüėõ

And finally, I would just like to say two thing: 1) I exist on Google in every country! And 2) I’ll be looking forward to the new SHT line-up, with Go-Kaiger and Fourze. Be sure to check back for all things toku.

Your Friends,

M.C., the Quantum Twin and HEN~SHIN~HEAD!

P.S., Expect to see HenshinHead around more often. He’s finally going to take time out from his busy schedule to tell us about his exploits in the Tokuverse!

Kamen Rider Fourze News, Rumors, and Episode Summaries: Classes start this Sunday!

We’re just days away from the start of the new series, Kamen Rider Fourze! And news and rumors about this new series have been flying around in every direction. Here are a few of the current things floating around today.

First we have some updated episode summaries for the first three episodes. Here’s what the first day at a new school is like for a Kamen Rider:

Episode 1: Youth Transformation
Gentaro is transferred to the Amanogawa High School Year 2 Class B, he wants to make friends to everyone. A message about a bomb is put up on the bulletin board, the queen – Miu, and the football captain have their eyes on everyone.

The Orion Zordiart, a mysterious monster, appears and runs wild in the school and attacks the leader of the American Football Club. Kengo confronts the monster, but is knocked off and is in danger. His classmate rides a giant machine to fight the monster. Kengo decides to gamble and hands Gentaro the switches and he transforms to Kamen Rider Fourze.

Episode 2: Space, First Class
Gentaro has transformed into Kamen Rider Fourze, but the¬† Orion Zodiart has escaped. Kengo tells Gentaro that handing him¬† the Fourze Driver was an ‘urgent measure’, and that using it is only a¬† temporary thing. To let himself to be part of the gang, Gentaro tries to¬† search for him, but he can’t find a single trace since he’s new to the¬† school.

Later, Gentaro is taken to outer space through the magical locker, Rabbit Hatch. Gentaro decides to protect his school and creates the Kamen Rider Club.

Episode 3: N/A
Kengo is adjusting the Astro Switches so they currently cannot be used. At the time, the Queen’s Festival is held at school. Everyone thinks that Miu will be chosen. However, Gentaro offers that if she fails they’ll have to become friends.

While Gentaro searches for an opponent, an invisible monster starts to attack the contestants.

Next up, we have some info on upcoming Astro Switches, No.06-09 to be exact.:

  • Chainsaw Switch (Triangle, 8)
Has a powerful engine that can rotate the blade up to 15000 rounds per minute.
  • Parachute Switch (Square, 7)
Inside the square box, there are 3 parachutes, Fourze can land safely from the sky.
  • Camera Switch (Square, 6)
Has high sensitivity and view far distances, it can also receive data from the environment nearby.
  • Hopping (Triangle, 9)
Can significantly increase the jumping height, from 20m to 40m.

And the first Foodroid has officially been revealed. Yay! Anyway, his name is BurgerMeal, and he is a surveilance robot. While in food mode, he maintains the shape of a hamburger. But when activated by the Camera Astro Switch 06, he enters into Lloyd mode (named for the type of robot it resembles) where it can collect data, act as a surveliance device, and take pictures from the air, and send all of it back to the Rabbit Hutch. Not bad, Wall-E Jr.

We also have some info on the Rabbit Hutch, the moon base where the FourzeDriver was created, and how it’s connected to the lockers in the school.

The Rabbit Hutch is part of a greater organization called OSTO (Over Space Technology Organization), a group that so far has only been referenced, and not directly talked about (hopefully it won’t be another Kougami Foundation, you can only use the whole “shadowy organization working for itself and inadvertantly helping the bad guys” thing ever now and then). This is the moon base where Kengo’s father invented the FourzeDriver and the Astro Switches, and where the other tools and weapons Fourze uses were developed. The base is connected to the Kengo’s locker through the power of the Astro Switches (which means they haven’t revealed a more detailed explanation for how it works). Even though the base is on the moon, the base itself has the same gravity as Earth.

Next we have info on the first three elite Zodiarts, and the lizard one on the end. The Zodiart “bosses” that have been revealed are the Virgo, Leo, and Libra Zodiarts. There are going to be 12 boss Zodiarts in all, based on the 12¬†constellations of Zodiac. One of the upcoming lower rank Zodiarts revealed so far has been the Chameleon Zodiart, which can become invisible or camouflage itself to blend into it’s surroudings. I didn’t know there was a chameleon constellation, did you?

And finally, we have a sneak peak at Fourze’s Electric State, or Elek State as it was begin called during the toy announcements. I know it’s been shaded, but it still looks cool,¬†a little bit better than it did in the illustrations for the “Billy the Rod” Module.

Anyway, that’s it for Fourze stuff right now. Since we are so close, I would expect to see something for it every day leading up to the premiere, and I definitely expect to tidal wave of news and rumors after the premiere. Can’t wait!

Who knows, because the next screen shot is completely unrelated!

Here’s Fourze using his LauncherModule against Punch Hopper. Among the new characters and features, Fourzes Base States and Base Modules have also been added to the game. Can’t really include him in the game without those, can you?

And finally, here’s six other pics, showing the new Showa characters, and the 2-on-2 battle gameplay:
