Go-Kaiger Ep.33 Screenshots and Ep.34 Preview: Best out-of-costume fight scene yet!

Hey everybody, Ep.33 of Go-Kaiger came out today. I haven’t been able to find any video yet, but we do have several screen shots from the episode, and from next week’s preview. So here’s a quick sampling of what happened in the show (and boy, was there a lot of “sampling” in this episode):

And random clip from a Dice-Oh! ad:

And here’s the Ep.34 preview:

Okay, maybe this wasn’t as quick as I said…

Sixth Rangers included in Ranger Cross game: Sorry, no Goranger sixth member. :P

Hey, some new screen shots have been added to the official website for the upcoming game Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross that feature the Sixth Rangers from three of the featured teams. Check them out below:

Here, we have two shots of Goseiger‘s GoseiKnight, definitely wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that attack. Am I mistaken, or his blade in that attack the wrong color?

And here we have ShinkenGold with his finishing move. Note the Shinkenger-style decorations in the background.

And finally, we have Go-Onger‘s Go-On Wings. I guess they count as a single Ranger? 😛

So far, there’s been no confirmation on whether or not Go-KaiSilver will also be in the game. Of course, with all these other past Sixth Rangers included in the game, why wouldn’t he be? And no, there won’t be a Sixth Ranger from Goranger included, for very obvious reasons.

Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross will be released on September 8th (wait, that’s tomorrow! And it’s already the 8th in Japan!) for 5800 yen, for the Nintendo Wii.

Go-Kaiger Mega-Post: Catching up on some slippery Pirates!

For those of you that happen to read other blogs, you know that I have gotten very far behind on catching up with the latest news about everything and anything. Well, to make up for that, I’m going to post EVERYTHING I’ve found Go-Kaiger-related in one super-sized Mega-Post! Expect lengthy descriptions and oodles of pics from this point on.

Starting with the oldest stories first, we have an interview with Wakamatsu Toshihide, who plays Yuki Gai/Black Condor, originally in Jetman but most recently in the newest episode of Go-Kaiger, talking about how writer Inoue Toshiki talked him into taking up his old role for this new series (note: this was translated from a Japanese magazine interview, I had nothing to do with the translating, so don’t complain to me about inproper English) :

I got phone call from Toshiki Inoue in the very early morning… well as is usual for him (laugh). He said “I’ll write script so appear on Gokaiger as Gai Yuki”. I’ve heard about “Gokaiger” so I knew what he told about, but I couldn’t believe what he said, because Gai already passed away.

The story of Gai’s death in Jetman was made mainly by Inoue and me at a meeting where we drank much(laugh). So I was against Gai’s being alive and I told so. Then he said “I understand you. Believe in me. If you don’t appear, I will never write.” So I replied to him with saying “I’ll leave everything to you.”

After reading the script, I called Inoue and heard him saying “It’s nice story for you isn’t it?” (laugh) I myself thought I’m too outstanding well in the story so I felt a kind of guilty for being a leading character in Gokaiger. At the same time I felt Inoue’s having a special place in his heart for Gai.

At the point I received the offer I called Hirofumi Ishigaki, Action Director in Gokaiger. He acted Yellow Owl in Jetman. I asked him if it’s possible to make Mr. Ohfuji act Brack Condor.

When I was in fitting session, I got welcome news. Mr. Nakazawa, the director said Ohfuji accepted the offer of Black Condor. Other staffs also thought that Black Condor must be acted by Ohfuji. That’s my great pleasure.

To answer your first question, Mr. Ohfuji is the original suit actor for Black Condor, so that makes the performance of Black Condor in battle that much more authentic. Which makes it that much cooler overall.

Next up, we have an official announcement for a new Go-Kaiger game from Namco Bandai, this time for the Nintendo DS, entitled Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: Atsumete Henshin! 35 Sentai!

The game’s genre is “Narikiri Treasure Hunting”, and you do just that. Basically, you go around the world finding, collecting, and using RangerKeys in battle. Each level has it’s own RangerKey, and along the way you have to fight Zangyack and collect the RangerKey on the map as soon as possible. The game also uses the stylus, making battles that much more simpler. The game will be released November 17th for 5040 yen.

I know it’s only been two console games so far, but that’s actually quite a lot in such a short span of time, amd whe you include other non-console games, then that number really jumps up.

Speaking of which, Namco Bandai has also announced a new app game for Go-Kaiger, called Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger ~ Let’s GokaiGalleon ~!

In this new game, you can play as Go-KaiGalleon, fighting against Zangyack spaceships. You even have the ability to play as Go-KaiOh!

Here’s the official iTunes description:

Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger comes to iPhone! Blast away meteoroids and enemy spacecraft that threaten the Gokai Galleon on its voyage towards Earth! Control the action with simple taps and flicks as you feverishly try to earn your best score!

Controls: Lock on to enemies on the screen by tapping them. You can lock on to multiple enemies at the same time. Next, flick the screen to attack all the enemies you are locked on to simultaneously! Tilt the device left and right to dodge enemy attacks.

Hints: Multiply your score locking on to multiple enemies and defeating them all at once. Pirate marks pile up on the lower left side of the screen, according to the number of enemies defeated at once. Once you have eight marks, you can transform into Gokaioh. You are invincible while transformed, giving you the opportunity to boost your score even more!

Sounds simple and easy to play, and it’s only 170 yen. It’s available for iPhone 3GS & 4, and iPod Touch 3 and up. You’ll need a Japanese iTunes account to purchase it, but luckily for you, Jefusion happens to have a post on how to set up one.

Next we have some interesting info on a “discarded” background story for Don Dogoier/Hakase/Go-KaiGreen. It comes from an interview with Go-Kaiger lead wirter Arakawa Naruhisa by Hyper Hobby magazine. Here’s one background story they considered for the good doctor:

(Arakawa) “Don would be a scared boy who saw his scientist father die in a laboratory after the Zangyack attacked and started a fire, leaving him traumatized.” In addition, Arakawa said that he wouldn’t be “a special person like Ahim”, that he doesn’t come from some high rank in society, that he is just an average person (comparitively speaking).

Well, I’m not sure if some version of this story is used, but it would explain a lot about him. What do you think about it?

Anyway, let’s move on to some showroom toy pics featuring Go-KaiMachine Machalcon and the Go-KaiGalleon Buster:

This is the next Go-KaiMachine, Engine Machalcon. He is the Go-Onger‘s Grand power, and as you can see below, he can be used to combine Go-KaiOh and Go-JyuJin into a single combined mecha!

And here we (finally) have Go-Kaiger‘s cannon weapon, the Go-KaiGalloen Buster. As you can see, it works like other cannon weapons, where everybody puts their RangerKeys in and KABOOM! Freshly toasted Zangyack.

Wait, what’s that at the top?

Hmm, it’s talking about glowing 7 different LED light colors, which every weapon toy does, but it’s also showing seven RangerKeys, including a blacked-out one over the purple circle. Could this possibly be a new Go-Kaiger? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

And finally, we have the screen shots from the newest episode of Go-Kaiger! Check out Black Condor’s return:

New Super Hero Time!

And next week:

There. now we’re all completely caught up on all things Go-Kaiger. If anything else comes up, I;m putting it in a new post. 😛

Go-Kaiger Ep.27 screen shots: Nothing beats the old switcharoo!

Alright then, here are some screen shots from the latest episode of Kaizoku Sentai Go-Kaiger! In this one, Luka and Don have switched bodies thanks to this week’s Action Commander. I wonder what kind of shenanigans they’ll get into while they’re in each others’ bodies? Let’s take a look:

Okay, I haven’t seen the episode yet, but I can tell you now that there’s an overwhelming number of Bioman villianess references in the background. I wonder if we’re close to a Bioman tribute episode?

And next week:

Well, that’s all the stuff from this newest episode I could find. If anything else pops up, I’ll let you know.

Kamen Rider OOO TakaGaruBa: Kangaroo Power!

For anyone who picked up the August issue of Telebi Magazine, it came with Kamen Rider OOO’s Hyper Battle Video “Quiz, and Dance, and TakaGaruBa”! While I haven’t seen any video from the special pop up, screenshots of OOO using the new Kangaroo medal have surfaced. Let’s take a look:

In the video, Hina finds the Kangaroo medal, but she wants to use it herself, so she challenges Eiji and Ankh to a quiz and a dance contest. But then the two Yummies seen in the scans show up, and Eiji must use the new medal to defeat them! While OOO is able to use the medal in both the leg and arms slot, the main finisher comes from the arms, and is called Champion Puncher.

The HBV is currently available with the August issue of Telebi Magazine.
