Yeah, no way I could get around NOT posting this: Kamen Rider Vs. Super Sentai Movie Announced! (Last Week…)

Last Sunday, December 4th, we, the members of tokusatsu fandom, recieved what is perhaps some of the greatest news we have yet to recieve. The ultimate fan fantasy crossover movie was announced, between the Kamen Rider and Super Sentai franchises. Tenatively called “Superhero Taisen”, this movie will feature as it’s leads Kamen Rider Decade and Kaizoku Sentai Go-Kaiger.

And along with those two, the movie will also feature all 40 Kamen Riders (up to and through Fourze), and over 200 Sentai Senshi (up to and through Gobuster).

Confirmed cast includes Inoue Masahiro (Kadoya Tsukasa/Decade), Ozawa Ryota (Captain Marvelous/Go-KaiRed), Akiyama Rina (Naomi from Den-O), Ishimaru Kenjiro (Owner/Stationmaster from Den-O), and Momotaros. and the director confirmed for this epic EPIC movie is Kaneda Osamu. Filming begins later this month (December 2011).

Producer Shirakura says, “In the year after the anniversary we’re not going to power down but cross it…. We want to show things you can’t see in the regular shows. This was pretty close to impossible but I’d like to make it the norm for our spring films. Rider is science, sentai is magic.”

Well, I always thought it was sorta the other way around, but really they’re both in this weird pseudo-scientific fantasy area at this point. But the real point I’d like to get at is this:
This is without a doubt the greatest movie announcement EVER, and I can’t wait to see it. Period. I may invent time travel solely to see this movie.

And I’m not the only one who has anything to say about it either, because Inoue Masahiro also talked about this on his blog shortly after the announcement. Here’s what he had to say:

So, recently I was going through my old photos and thinking, “It sure was fun when I was working on Kamen Rider….”  And now, all of a sudden, I get to do it again!   This one is even bigger than last time–it looks like a lot of fun!

The kids don’t talk about Decade much anymore so I was starting to get kind of lonely, lol.  He’s still passing through!

I’m going to have fun but still give it my all.  If only one person sees it or a lot of people see it, I’ll be happy either way!

I can’t write much yet so I’ll stop for now, lol.  It would be great if I could get to do some action again!

The movie is expected to come out March 2012. I may fly to Japan to see it.

Tokumei Sentai Gobuster REVEALED!: Talk about a power you’ve never seen before. [Updated Three times]

They’re finally here! Here’s the first official images of the 36th Super Sentai Series Tokumei Sentai Gobuster!:

Here they are! From right to left, that’s YellowBuster and robot partner Usada Letas, RedBuster with Chida Nikku, and BlueBuster with Gorisaki Banana, and of course Gobuster-Oh in the background.

And this is their main henshin device, the (and I kid you not) Morphin’ Brace (sincerest apologies to the Mission Paneler for not making the cut). Apparently, it pops out the shades that the Gobusters where on their helmets. And from the looks of it, it come with interchangable disks for each Gobuster (think the Shinobi Medals from Hurricanger). And then there’s the thing on the bottom of the page, but I don’t know what it is, so let’s move on!

And here are two of their side-arms, the IchiganBuster, a camera that changes into a gun/blaster, and the SouganBlade, a sword that changes into a pair of binoculars. And from the looks of it, it seem that they do combine together to form one more powerful weapon.

And this is RedBuster’s mech, CB-01 Gobuster Ace. Looks like Chida Niku first turns into the head of the mech (GoseiKnight anyone?), and then attaches itself to the car shown above, then changes into a cheetah, and then changes into a single robot that can combine with the other two. A little complicated, but okay.

And the other two, Gorisaki Banana and Usada Letas combine with a BlueBuster’s truck GT-02 and YellowBuster’s helicopter RH-03, respectively, to form the auxillary gorilla and rabbit mechs. And when they all combine…

…You get Gobuster-Oh! Looks like a cross between SirenBuilder and Engine-Oh. (What is it time for? I can’t see, there’s a giant robot in the way.)

Anyway, today’s news isn’t entirely about Gobuster, because this was included with the leaked scans:

Whoa, that’s bigger than the others. It’s the new Legend Mobirate, apparently with 68 new sounds, a new gold-lined paint job, a Super Sentai databease, and a new AkaRed RangerKey! And it will be cheaper than the standard Mobirate!! And it looks like they’ll be releaseing three new RangerKey sets, which include full-team SunVulcan, Gaoranger, and of course Gobuster. Set for release in March.

My thoughts: On first impression, it looks good. At first, I was somewhat shocked by the new suit designs, mostly because they look like an outfit you’d where backpacking, but it works. I’d do like the new colored-shades look, and the helmet design is clean and simple. While I’ll admit that I had been looking forward to the Mission Paneler, I do like the pop-out shades gimmick of the Morhpin’ Brace (Saban, if you ever get to this series, please, for your sake and mine, keep that name!). From the look of that, and their equipment, it looks like the spy theme rumors might be true. And I guess with the new mechs that they wanted to retry the “Headder” concept from Goseiger, but it’s a nice looking Sentai mech. Th only thing I’m no sure of is their team logo. It’s a pair of shades over an ellipse that makes it look like a big “G”, and has the letters “BG” on the shades. It’s just a little too reminiscent of the Go-Onger logo for my tastes.

And of course, this post is full of good news, because along with this new preview and the new Mobirate news, it looks like the premiere date for the series is February 26th, which would put the official number of episode of Go-Kaiger at the rumored number of 52! Yay rumor confirmations!

If I find out any more, you can bet I’ll let you know!

Go-Kaiger Slated to run for 52 Episodes?: As far as I’m concerned, it could go on another season.

Alright, there’s been a mini debate over ho long Go-Kaiger will actually run for. On the one hand, you have rumored episode summaries that point to 50 episodes, and before then there were rumors that the series could go well over 50. So which rumor is closer to the truth? Looks like we might have the answer to that question.

According to new Blu-Ray and DVD listings, Go-Kaiger will run for 52 episodes. This comes from news that they are including five episodes per disc, instead of just four, and that they started including those fifth episodes as early as volume 9 (total volume collection has been counted at 12). So if the last four volumes includes 5 episodes each, and the previous 8 volumes included four episodes each, then that brings the hypothetical total to 52 episodes, which would debunk the newer finale rumors and reassert the older episode count rumors. But is this really the case? Will the series run throught February We’ll just have to keep waiting to find out.

Movie Wars MEGAMAX Rumors and Spoilers

Hey, I know some of this is old news, but I haven’t covered it yet, so here it is.

Over the weekend and earlier this week, news, rumors, and spoilers galore came out for the upcoming movie Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO Movie Wars MEGAMAX, and the’ve so far revealed more info than can be summed up in a single paragraph(!). So let’s jumpt to it!

First off, we have a possible plot summary for for the movie, and they do contain some major spoilers. So how will the movie play out?:

Kamen Rider OOO

After a meteor fall, the evil Rider Poseidon appears from a distortion in space/time. His true identity is Miharu Minato, who fights to protect people 40 years in the future.

Miharu transforms into a killing machine and attacks the Riders from the present. Goto and Date are called by Kougami and transform into Birth again. However, against Poseidon, the double Births were in a hopeless battle…

Kamen Rider Aqua: With the power of the water, Miharu transforms into Kamen Rider Aqua to protect the world 40 years into the future. However, he receives a new belt from Kougami and becomes the evil Kamen Rider Poseidon…

Kamen Rider Fourze

A mysterious female student falls from the sky… her name is Misaki Nadeshiko! After catching her, a Zodiarts appears, and Gentaro runs and transforms into Fourze to fight against it, however, Nadeshiko transforms too and they see each other. Who is she?

The members of the Kamen Rider Club are surprised at her appearance, but accept her and decide to work together. However, Gentaro is strange… “That’s love.” Gentaro falls in love at first sight with Nadeshiko! However, Zodiarts aren’t the only ones attacking her. Foundation X, which had antagonized W in the past, also wanted to obtain her power…

Sadondas: An artificially evolved life form by Mutermite.

Fourze, OOO, W, and 7 Legendary Riders

Meteorites fall around the globe! Rem Kanagi, from Foundation X, obtains a mysterious slime and sets out to obtain Astro Switches and Core Medals.

The 7 Riders were fighting against Foundation X divisions in various countries and gather in Japan to stop his plans! On the other hand, Shotaro and Philip learn about Foundation X’s new operation too! Fourze! OOO! W! And the Glorious Seven Riders! The strongest enemy finally appears in the frontlines!

Rem Kanagi: Super evolved life form Mutermite. He hides a horrific real form!

Well, looks like their going to be twists and turns around every corner. Speaking of which, check out this pic:

At some point in the OOO movie, Ankh will use Eiji as his substitute body. As if their partnership wasn’t already weird. And with this pic came some info from a recent interview with the movie director, Koichi Sakamoto.

According to Sakamoto, there’s been a certain amount of focus on form changes in the movie. OOO, for exapmle, will include all of the major combos, with a few unsued random combos in between, but neither PuToTyra nor BuraKaWani will be used. With W, the memory changes will supposedly be better than they were in the W FOREVER movie, and Fourze’s State changes won’t be half bad, either.

Speaking of forms, chaecl out these new forms for Fourze and OOO that will appear in the movie:

These are the rumored OOO Super TaToBa combo and Fourze Double Rocket State. Some new info has come uot for the Fourze Double Rocket State, which I will include in a separate post.

Now that we’ve discussed new forms, let’s move onto the new movie Rider, Kamen Rider Aqua.

No real new info on him, but some have pointed out that his design is very heavily based off of the design of Ichigo (Kamen Rider), only with a futuristic design aspect and an aquatic theme.

And with pics of him came a new host of pics from the OOO part of the movie:

And finally, it looks like Fourze second Rider (for the series) will make an appearance in movie as well. Take a look at the new Kamen Rider Meteor:

A lot of new info has come out for this now-confirmed Rider, which will be included in a separate post.

And assuming that this doesn’t mess up again, that should be it for MEGAMAX news. If anything else pops up, I’ll let you know.

Power Ranger Super Samurai in 2012: See, I told you they would use it next season!

Can I call it, or can I call it?

It looks like they’ve been saving this for season two. Starting next year, Power Rangers Samurai will resume under the new title of “Power Rangers Super Samurai”. It was comfirmed in an interview with Saban Brand’s Kirk Bloomington in the October 2011 Issue of The Licsensing Book Online (page 17).

Most likely, this is an indication that they’ve been saving the Super Shinkenger footage for season two, or should I say Super Samurai, and that they’ve been trying to avoid using the vests and the new Megazords/Megazord formations for then. If that is the case, then I’m definitely looking forward to the new Power Rangers Super Samurai!

Wasshoi! (Wait, wrong show.)

Go-Kaiger/Gobuster News, Info, and Rumors: Let’s get the Space Sheriff to settle this.

Hry, I know this is kinda late, but it’s still pretty exciting news! It looks like the Kaizoku Sentai Go-Kaiger Vs. Gavan has been confirmed! We have more on this, and we have some new rumors about the next Sentai series, Tokumei Sentai Gobuster. So let’s see what’s going on:

Yes, it looks like what’s going on in the pic above is happening, and while their hasn’t been any official confirmation from Toei, the website http://www.gokai-gavan.jp/ has been registered, and the movie has been added to movie review websites like Lady Eve and Good Nagano, so I would definitely say it’s been confirmed. And it looks like the premiere date for the movie will be January 21st, 2012.

And since the recent tradition has been to throw in the next series near the end of the movie, most likely the movie will include Gobuster. Speaking of which, we have some new rumors about the next series, dealing with the henshin device they use and the team make-up:

  • The Gobusters’ henshin device is known as the “Mission Paneler” When the “Change Panel” is pushed, the Gobusters suits appear!
  • The Gobusters are composed of GobusRed, GobusBlue, GobusYellow, GobusGreen, and GobusWhite. Based on previous info, Green and White may join a little after, or be the rumored “partners” of the main time.

And in a final bit of news, this image has been leaked:

It appears to be a Gavan RangerKey, which would be inline with the movie announcement, and recent confirmation that Bandai would release Gavan mobile headquarters, the DolGiran, as a DX Go-Kai Machine. But of cousre, this could very easliy be fake, considering the number custom RangerKeys that have been created by fans since the release of the DX Mobirate. But this still would be cool, especially if they were to release it along with the DX Go-Kai Machine DolGiran. Just something to consider.

Anyway, that’s it for Go-Kaiger and Gobuster news for now, if anything else pops up, I’ll let you know.

Movie Wars MEGAMAX filming updates: Wrap ups, voice overs, and some new pics.

NO! Not ironic hipster glasses! Oh, the humanity!

Getting past that, it’s time for some MEGAMAX updates!

According to a recent post on Watanabe Shu(Hino Eiji/Kamen Rider OOO)’s personal blog, it looks like he finished filming his scenes for the OOO part of the movie around October 9th. And in a later post that came out Friday, October 15th, Watanabe confirmed that he, along with Iwanaga Hiroaki (Gotou Shintaro/Kamen Rider Birth), Kimijima Asaya (Date Akira/Prototype Birth), and Miura Ryosuke (Ankh), had finished their ADR recordings for the movie. And in a separate blog post, Takada Riho also mentioned doing some ADR recording for the movie. I wonder why?

And this newest set of movie pics confirms the return of Kougami to the movie. And if I may say so, SUBARASHI!

Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider OOO & Fourze Movie Wars MEGAMAX premieres December 10th.

Kamen Rider Fourze Super MEGA post: Launching Story Barrage in 3,…2,…1!

Hey, a bunch of new stories and rumors have come out for Kamen Rider Fourze over the last few days, and unfortunately I haven’t been able to keep up with the ever-growing number. So I’ve decided to just throw everything into one mega-post, starting from oldest to newest. So let’s get to it!

First off, we have official confirmation that both Ankh will return in Movie Wars MEGAMAX, and that Shotaro and Phillip will show up in this movie for the Kamen Rider W scene. As you can see from this image above, it also confirms the appearance of the Seven Legendary Riders. All of this can be seen in the newest trailer:

Is that a triple henshin I see? 😉

Next, the first official trailer for the upcoming game Kamen Rider Climax Heroes Fourze has been released, and features both the new characters and the new gameplay. Let’s watch:

Don’t you just wanna rush out to order it? 😛

Next, we have some new episode summaries, and it looks like Daimonji will be joining the Kamen Rider Club soon, though rather reluctantly…

Episode 7: N/A – 10/16
Amanogawa High School wins the District Tournament. Daimonji’s father congratulates him. The cheering team also comes out to cheer. However, Daimonji is searching for Miu. He phones her, Miu says that she is busy with other club activities.

At the background you can hear the sound “Spike ON,” and Miu started to scream. Fourze and Yuki were trying out the switches. Miu tells Daimonji that Kamen Rider activities are important and hangs up the phone.

Episode 8: N/A – 10/23
Gentaro, Kengo and Yuki are requested to have a supplementary class during holiday time, but a Zodiarts appeared and the three must leave the classroom. The teacher ordered them to stand outside the classroom because of their actions. Daimonji is in the class as well so as to interfere with the Kamen Rider Club.

Episode 9 – N/A 10/30
Gentaro and Yuki have a morning run? Kengo and Nozama stares at them coldly. Meanwhile, three girl students and Tomoko call themselves witches. Yuki is invited to one of their secret witch meetings…

Next, it’s been confirmed that anime singer May’N and former SURFACE vocalist Shiina Yoshiharu have formed a new singing unit, the Astronauts, to sing the theme for Fourze’s Elek State entitled “Giant Step”, which was heard in episode 6 of Fourze. Both artists have performed a number of different anime themes with each of their respective groups, and this is the first time the two have collaborated on such a project.

And finally, we have a few rumors on the second Rider for Kamen Rider Fourze, the newly named Kamen Rider Sagu. Here’s what’s been said do far:

  • 2nd Rider is named Kamen Rider Sagu and powers come from the Sagittarius Zodiarts. The Zodiarts Switch is converted into the 41st Astro Switch.
  • The armor is all blue, including the eyes. The left eye divided, and the division makes for a sort of “3rd eye.”
  • Belt has a bow-and-arrow motif and works like GokaiSilver’s GokaiCellular, scanning the switches. The arrow on the belt is the symbol for Mars, the circle of the arrow is pulled up on using your finger to transform, causing the arrow to slide over the Switch, scanning it.
  • Belt works with Sagu’s personal weapon.

So, a bad guy turned good, and on based on the warrior constellation Sagittarius? We’ll have to see how this one turns out.

And that’s it for Fourze news. You should be completely caught up at this point in time. But if anything else pops up, I’ll be sure to let you know!

Power Rangers Megaforce the next series title? Yep!

Recently, Saban Brands through Power Rangers LLC trademarked the title “Power Rangers Megaforce”, which, as you can imagine, has led a lot of people to speculate on whether or not this is in fact the title of the next Power Rangers series, a.k.a. the Goseiger adaption. Here’s a copy of the trademark:

I know it’s not very big, but you can still see that it doesn’t really mention anything in the copyright application about a live-action television series, but it does mention a truck load of merchandise, mostly video, computer and possibly app games, electronics cases, DVDs featuring live-action entertainment for kids, music, and eyewear/eyewear accesories. It sounds like the typical merchandise setup for a new series, only with no series confirmation, or any children’s toys for that matter.

So then, even with nothing confirming a new live-action series, do you think that this is unofficial confirmation for a new series, possibly the Goseiger adaption? Or do you believe that this is something else? Personally, I’m not sure what to think. The name itself is so unspecific that it could be applied to anything. For all we know, this could be something similar to the “Super Legends” line that came out in ’07 with PROO. Or maybe (and this is really wishful thinking) they could be working on their own version of Power Rangers Online, the MMORPG that was announced last month in South Korea. This is all speculation, of course, so we’ll just have to wait for confirmation from Saban.

And while the series name is still mystery, we do have some info on two ACTUAL casting sides for the next Ranger series. The casting sides for the Pink Ranger and the role of the Professor are available for download here, and it looks like from these casting sides that the series will return to it’s high-school-kids-turn-superheroes roots. Yeah, teenagers with attitude!

-M.C., the Quantum Twin

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!: WE have official confirmation that this is the name of the next series! Check out the copyrights here:

Yep, it’s the application for tradmarks for a live-action television show! We now have a name, let’s see how long it is before we can see a face.

Seven Legendary Riders in Movie War MEGAMAX: Showa Rider KITAAAAA!!!!

Yesterday, we got news of two brand new Riders that will appear in Kamen Rider x Kamen Rider Fourze & OOO Movie Wars MEGAMAX. Today, we have news of a few old Riders appearing in the movie, as well as more info on Nadeshiko and Poseidon.

While the focus of the story will be on Fourze and OOO, it has been confirmed that seven Rider from the past will also be appearing in the movie. Namely, the Seven Legendary Kamen Riders Ichigo, Nigo, V3, Riderman, X, Amazon, and Stronger. No word on where they’ll appear in the movie or what role they’ll play in the story.

For Fourze’s part of the movie, the plot will mainly surround a love story between Gentaro and Misaki Nadeshiko, a hish chool girl whose able to transform into Kamen Rider Nadeshiko. She want to fight alongside Fourze, but who exactly is she?…

For OOO’s part, they encounter a mysterious young man named Miharu, who is able to transform into Kamen Rider Poseidon. Like OOO, Poseidon uses three Core Medals, the Shark, Whale, and Wolffish Medals. And from the look of this scan, I’d say that he’s OOO first evil Rider.

Well, at the very least, we’re looking at a movie with the total of 13 Riders (minimum), with what will probably be a very big ending. And yet, no one outside of Japan will be able to see it until next year. Nothing worse that delayed awesomeness.

-M.C., the Quantum Twin

UPDATE: We have a a bit more detailed background on the two parts of the movie, as well as on the two new Riders.

Fourze’s part of the movie will be the story of Gentaro’s first love. And who is this lady that managed to steal his heart? Why it’s Misaki Nadeshiko, a.k.a. Kamen Rider Nadeshiko. The main focus of the story will be on Nadeshiko’s identity, and on what happens with Gentaro’s first love (some people just went “Aww”, other just said “bleh”).

More detailed images of the suit show the changes that went in to stylize the suit for a more female appearance. The suit has a sailor-style collar connected to solar ribbons, a belt similar to the FourzeDriver, but it only has the two arm slots (so far for Rocket and Radar Switches), they seem to have swapped out the orange in the Fourze outfit for blue, and it’s rather form-fitting, which is an entirely different discussion. And her version of the FourzeDriver doesn’t seem to have the big lever on the side, so how will she henshin or perform a Limit Break? Hopefully, it won’t be some “magigirl”-style transformation, otherwise I’ll have to have a few words with Koichi-san.

And for the OOO part, the story seems to center around the arrival of this new Rider, Kamen Rider Poseidon. A mysterious young man named Miharu changes into Poseidon and challenges Eiji to a duel. Since Eiji has no way of transforming, since all of the original Core Medals were destroyed, Date steps in as Proto-Birth to fight him, but then the picture above happens…

Poseidon is very similarly modelled after OOO, he has a modified version of the OOODriver with three aquatic-themed Core Medals, his head, torso and legs matching the corresponding colors, and with the designs from the Medals on his chest. The designs on the Core Medals are of a Shark, Whale, and Bering Wolffish. This is solely my opinion, but he does remind me in many ways of a Maori warrior, between the theme of the Medals, the look of the designs on the Medals, and the odd-looking staff.

But his appearance begs many questions. How does he have these unique Core Medals? How does he have ANY Core Medals? And how will Eiji be able to defeat him if he can’t become OOO?
